I quickly skimmed the codex today noticed with daemon princes that you can give them a mark of khorne, slannesh, nurgle, or tzeench, nut I couldn't find in the book where it mentioned what these marks do to the models physical characteristics. Do they just allow you to unlock gifts for a particular god or do they also improve a physical characteristic like initiative, attack, toughness, or save. Could you tell me where to find it in the codex. Thanks for your time!

Thats easy enough to anser...

Mark of Khorne pg 25. gives +1 Attack

Mark of Nurgle pg 25. +1 Toughness

Mark of Slaanesh pg 25. +1 Init

Mark of Tzeentch pg 25. +1 Invulerability save.

Around the time of 3rd to 3.5 edition all the fluff was removed and all the goodies demons would have were taken away for a standard bonus wich sucks. I still use my old 1st edition Demon Prince w/Mark of Khorne (body of a bloodletter), deamon sweapon, psi-cannon. Its no longer legal as a Demon Prince so he is a Chaos Lord w/o a psi-cannon :( I wish that the old rules would be updated maybe in the Demon Codex but doubt it as GW listens to those that cry to much about demons being to powerful. go figure.....hello Demon....Run its gonna get you....hehe love that saying.

Chaos rules you all drool! Blood for the Blood God!
10,000 pts Black Legion
2,000 pts Traitor Catchian Guard (1067th).
8,000 point Sam Hain Eldar.
2,000 pts Squat Biker Force.
1,500 Orc Hoard (painting for a friend).

Those page references are for the Chaos Space marine Codex; the OP is asking for the Chaos Daemons codex.

In the Chaos Daemons Codex the correct page reference is Page 76. The rules are also different, the Marks set the princes stats to new values instead of modifying the Stats in question. This is not the Same. A Daemon Prince with a Mark of Nurgle has a T6, not T5(6).

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Although that is a completely arbitrary and useless distinction in a book where nothing can be insta-killed.

Actually your input is far more arbitrary and useless, as things can always change it doesn't even have to be the codex itself - could be a new Str10 ignores eternal warrior weapon - we don't know. And it's nice when people have been offered enough information and background to compliment their understanding to be able to adapt to new rules or situations as they occur, not burying our heads in the sand until we receive a kick up the butt
