Wondering Why the Emperor Left

Pheonix, Arizona

A few facts about me.
1: I have never played a game of 40k, there are no GW's in my state, and no one I know plays.
2: I've researched 40k, painting, and modeling for years.
3: I'd love to collect an awesome forge world renegade militia army.
4: I suck at painting, thus discouraging me from completing my SM army.
5: I really don't want to spend the money on an awesome amy that will suck.

I NEED A FOOLPROOF PAINT SCHEME!

I'd like it to be tan to light brownish in color, and uses of washes would be appreciated. The simpler and easier the scheme the better. Pics would also be appreciated as well.

PLEASE, HELP THIS NOOBIE COMPLETE A GOOD LOOKING ARMY.

Use either Tausept Ochre or Iyanden Darksun as a base colour then a Devlan Mud wash.
Drybrush with the base coat then add a bit of Bleached Bone for a final highlight.
I haven't done the highlight yet but you should get something like -

I need to take some better pictures.
BTW I used Darksun

I agree with Bubber, you want a Taucept Ochre coat for the overalls with the metal areas painted Chainmail. Then give all of it a few washed of Devlan Mud.

Awesome! Thanks that would work.
