This list throws 7 MCs at my opponent to try and overwhelm his target priorities and hopefully split to much fire or concentrate on to few of my big bugs as the others do the damage. My warriors move up with the 'fexes. The 'stealers outflank, and the harpies flitter about acting like moving heavy venom cannon platforms.

HQ:

tryanid prime w/lashwhip, bonesword, deathspitter, adrenals 110

Troops:

5 tyranid warriors w/lashwhip, bonesword, deathspitter, adrenals 275

2x8 genestealers w/toxin sacs 272

Fast Attack:

3x Harpy w/heavy venom cannon and adrenals 540

Heavy:

2 carnifex w/2x twin linked devourers 380

mawloc 170

trygon prime w/adrenals 250

1997 points. Critisisms wanted and welcome.

Those Harpies are what make this list work I think...they are only useful when you take more than one as well...at least in my personal experience...the multiple assault with the Harpy's screech thrown in will be awesome...

I think the mawloc could be dropped and maybe the trygon for tervigons if you got them...because they can be scoring and they can buff your units with onslaught...and catalyst...while pumping out units...if you choose...for objective missions.

The genestealers are a nice distraction to let you move up...

If you outflank your genestealers it will really force your opponent to change up theire target priorities! I love trygons in CC but I haven't had any luck with mawloks yet. For objective purposes I would agree with ductvader, tervigons would help alot.

Be very careful fielding harpies against IG and especially Tau. The right army could wipe out all 3 in a single turn.

If I were to drop the mawloc for a tervigon, how do you think I should outfit the tervigon? The mawloc will pay for the tervigon and leave me with 13 points left over. The next points I would consider shaving would be adrenals off of the harpies (netting 30 points more) or maybe downgrading my warriors from lashwhip/bonesword to dual boneswords or maybe rending claws(netting 25-50 points).

I would probably try to use onslaught on the trygon prime after he comes in and use it on the dakka-fexes earlier allowing them to run and shoot.

Thanks for the idea.

@Maelstrom808: True, the harpies could get wiped quickly by an army with a ton of firepower. I had considered maybe running two harpies and a screen of gargoyles, but to do that right I'd need to put a flyrant or shrikes with the group to give synapse to the gargoyles. The harpies don't really need synapse because of their high leadership.

Honestly I don't like shrikes unless you run the parasite with them...I think they are only worth being his honor guard because they always die too quickly for me to be good for much else.
