I have decided to start up a tyranid army and this is my first attempt a competitive army. Please give all criticism that you have.

HQ:
Tervigon 220
-(Catalyst, Onslaught) Adrenal Glands, Regeneration, Scything Talons, Cluster Spines
Tyranid Prime 80

Elites:
2 Hive Guard 100
2 Hive Guard 100
3 Zoanthrope 220
-Mycetic Spore

Troop::
10 Genestealers 160
Scything Talons
10 Genestealers 160
Scything Talons
18 Termagant 108
-Toxin Sacs
18 Termagant 108
-Toxin Sacs

Heavy Support:
Tyrannofex 295
-Rupture Cannon, Regeneration
Tyrannofex 295
-Rupture Cannon, Regeneration

1845

I have looked at some other army lists and i know most say Tyrannofex's are to many points.
But i really think the S 10 weapon firing non stop is a great asset and will keep land raiders off my back even if they do have a librarian.
Tyranid Prime is there to provide cheap Synapse

Drop the tyranid prime, the three zoeys in the spod, and 2 gaunts and fill up on 3x3 hive guard and then add toxin sacs to all your genestealers. TS on 'stealers is a must.

Why are you taking a Tervigon as an HQ? The only reason I can think of to do that is if it was your only HQ choice in a lower point game (but a Prime would work better in most cases anyway). Considering you already have Termagant units for Troops its a pretty easy swap.

Shift the Tervigon to a troops choice so he can squat all over an objective and almost guarantee that it's yours.

Drop the Tyranofexes with rupture cannons. You are paying 590 points for 4 shots at BS 3 that either cannot use it's range because it's staying with the pack or needs a dedicated synapse baby sitter doing nothing but watching them.

If you're looking for anti-tank take two Trygons or Trygon Primes (partial to having synapse ON them myself so I always run primes). Even with the prime it's 240 points apiece so with two of them you've saved yourself 110 points for somewhere else and you have much more effective anti-tank. Like, seriously more effective. The turn they come in you ruin someone's day with assault 12, 18" str 5 AP 5, next turn you go all can opener with 7 attacks, 6+2D6 armor penetration on rear armor with dual scything talons rerolls.

I pretty much agree with what everyone said above. Although I lean towards keeping the prime and dropping the tervigon down to the troops.

++ Heed my words for I am the Herald and we are the footsteps of doom. Interlopers, do we name you. Defilers of our
sacred earth. We have awoken to your primative species and will not tolerate your presence. Ours is the way of logic,
of cold hard reason: your irrationality, your human disease has no place in the necrontyr. Flesh is weak.
Surrender to the machine incarnate. Surrender and die.

Looks like a pretty solid list. Give it a try in a few experimental games with friends and try to keep an eye on the overall big picture to see if there's any unforeseen gaps.
