Hi everyone,
I recently started playing Warhammer 40K and also picked up the hobby of prop/model building around the same time. Hopefully I'll find a lot of useful information for both here, from those who actually know what they're doing, unlike myself. 
Little bit of background:
12 years ago my friend and I bought some Warhammer Fantasy Miniatures and I ended up painting them and it turned out he wasn't interested after a couple of weeks. Fast forward some short years later and I picked up a large amount of Necrons, painted them and had no one to play with (but they looked good on display).
About 4 years back, I made a new friend who shared my interest in miniatures and Star Wars. We became fast friends and have played throughout it's lifetime. Unfortunately, its time has come to an end and so we and we must move on. We decided to go back to both of our pasts and try out Warhammer once more (also, as a designer/illustrator by trade, badly pre-painted minis kinda sucked). He dug out all the miniatures he bought from years ago, along with some new ones, and I have started building up my Chaos Space Marines. We will be playing a small 500 point game this weekend to get reacquainted with the rules.
