I've just moved into the Sydney CBD. It's noisy, there are no parrots or cows, and there is the battle bunker two blocks down and around the corner.

Now I'm not completely new to the city, I've just been elsewhere for five years. I have active 1750-2000 point Ork and Eldar armies, and can pull Marines/Space Wolves out with a bit of nudging. I'd love to find local players in the city who either frequent the GW, know if it's worth attending their game nights, or would like to find games outside of local stores.
Any other stores that people know of would be nice to know about... I know 'The Tin Soldier' is only a few minutes from the GW, and I've never played there but used to go there a lot when I was younger.

I barely even know the local tourneys, since I've only been involved in QLD/Northern NSW clubs and tourneys in recent years, some shops have closed or moved. So anyone who can give me a crash course in Sydney wargaming... GO!

Not particularly interested in meeting up with people under the age of eighteen, unless you just want to organise a game at a local store.

Normally there is about a dozen or so of us 'older' gamers on Thursday nights. Generally people start trickling in throughout the afternoon and then start playing games until the GW close at 9.

Afterwards as is expected we hit up the pub and disperse around 11-12ish.

Generally in the city GW you can find games pretty easily.

Best place to find out about Sydney tournaments is on Wargamerau which is the Aussie version of Dakka.

There are a few tournaments coming up off the top of my head, eg Emperor's Legion at 1750 down in Penrith in September.

GW Sydney City just finished hosting games for GW Conflict event, so if you're after a lot of tournaments WAU is the best place to find out details.

Edit: I won't be in the City store this Thursday or the Next as I'm working, but I know the rest of the guys will be there.

I know there are a few people always keen on games, so if you do go on that night, it is just a matter of asking if someone is keen for a game.

Your inference that the local regulars are also capable of being allowed access to a public drinking establishment is of enormous relief.

I do use WAU, thanks, and do need to start looking at what is going on locally...

I'll give the shop a go this week. I'll be wearing my black/red 'Armageddon Games' club shirt at the GW on Thursday night... still representing my old local FLGS, of course. Anyone who wants to play my Eldar, keep an eye out!

(my Ork footslogger army is a little too labour intensive for pickup games)

Best advice I can give you is to roll up some time in the afternoon (4-5) earlier is good though, iirc games will be well underway by 7. Normally you can squeeze in a few larger games, depending on how fast you are. I banged out 1750 last week in an hour.

Bring your own codex / templates / dice / tape measure, Rulebook is also handy if it is your first trip so you can go out back and use the Bunker tables.

Also, while unfortunately I'm busy this games night and next, if you want to get some Eldar on Eldar action hook me up yo :p

Dropped in earlier today, it's a very short stroll from my new place.
I normally play full sized games but I think I'll come with a 1000-1250 army this Thurs and try to get a couple games in.
The staff appear to have improved upon their taste in music... I don't recognise any of the staff, admittedly, but I'm willing to trade familiarity for not having to listen to Linkin Park.

Oooo, that sounds good, I usually go to Chatswood, but I've never been to the bunker before. I am in the same part of sydney as you guys and am not a little cruddler either, so maybe I'll pop along sometime too. I'm looking for the same types of gamers, especially ones that drink, man, I've been wanting to drunkenly talk warhammer 40k my whole life!

Anyone spotting this thread for the first time... I'll be at the bunker from 11am tomorrow with Orks... I have one game lined up and could always use a couple more.

No, but if it's the person I'm thinking of, I've argued over rules with him. It turns out we were both wrong.

I've watched him play and the sorts of lists he takes... he'll be a good game if I ever do.

He's a pretty good General too so watch out :v.

my stuff is currently under construction but would be happy to give you a game the next time im in only problem is im 15 but mature enough and i regular there quite often on weekends if you were interested in a pick up game

I can only pull 2500 Eldar out if I break force org and take too muany heavy support in an apoc game. I usually play 1750 games but will bring 2k points worth... so far I've only been able to get 1000 point games at the shop so it's all good.

Will be around from Tuesday morning, most of the employees should be able to point me out by now, and you should be able to deduce my name from the contents of this thread.

I have 7-7.5k of eldar, though some of it is on loan to Jason. I'll write down a few lists tonight, I plan on being in at around 10ish, until 530, 6.

Hey guys I was planning on coming down tomorrow about 10 with about 2K worth of my BA.

Tom I'd be happy to have another crack at your Orks / Eldar . . . probably be a little more competitive and quicker this time around.

I was going to go in on Tuesday, but I decided to catch up on some sleep.

I'll be in for sure on next Tuesday; though I might bring in some Fantasy. I'm not sure, I'm down for another game against Space Wolves at 2.5k.

I might man up and bring in 2 cases, we will see.

Aite so at this point it just looks like I'll be bringing Eldar; I don't want to MAN UP and bring in 2 cases :v
