as stated in the title: i HATE THE LEG POSE OF SPACE MARINES!

that being said most of my army has the horrible poses but buying death company and assault marine legs like i have been doing recently is going to be too $$ i decided. any tutorials on how to turn the wide poses to maybe a run or walk stance? i dont like the kneeling thing and the berzerker running pose is just goofy to me.

Somewhere in the Tutorial forum there is a post on how to chop, pin and reposition SM legs using copper wire as a skeleton.

What, you mean the "I'm a pretty little ballerina" legs?

Nah, just cut and reposition them the oldschool way.

Assault squad legs are a cooler pose. Amputating, then reattaching the legs is pretty painful but with good GS skills you should be able to pull it off.

Funny thing is i used Berzerker legs on my 1k sons(i know SaP rule why the hell would they be running but they look a hell of alot better). I dont know why i didnt think of assault marine legs but i found berzerker legs for cheap on the warstore and ran with it.

Thats alot of work to cut and reposition all those legs, but if you have the time I find carefully cutting and repositioning them, throw in a little green stuff, and you are golden.

Depends. With FW resin that warps, yes, it works great. Prepare three shallow dishes. Fill one with ice water. Leave one empty. Fill the other with hot water, and microwave it a bit (not boiling, unless you enjoy burnt fingers). When the water is hot, drop in the warped piece, leave it in about 30 seconds, and then put it in the empty dish. Straighten it out, then carefully pour the ice water into the dish to re-set it. No sweat.

I once had some legs crushed in shipping, and tried this method with them, with less awesome results. When you bent the legs a little, some parts may warp a bit, like the knees might get narrower. It's hard to fix this sort of screwup so go slow and easy. For any serious repositions, you will have better looking results with carefully slicing the legs and using some greenstuff.

Once you do a few chop and repose jobs, it becomes really easy. Hell I pretty much do some reposing of all the arms I do now.

Huh, I just did some searching and googling but was unable to turn up the tutorial I remembered seeing... weird!

Basically the method is you cut the legs at the joints (hip, knee, foot) and file away all the remains of the ridged joint connecting detail. Then you use a pin vise to drill a hole through all the pieces and run a brass wire through. Pose however you like and glue. Then use green stuff to fill in the cracks.

For more simple conversions, cut in one place (like for an arm or something) and just use wire to pin that joint.

If you wanted to make dozens of running guys, you are probably better off buying the bitz. But that is a time vs money calculation only you can make.
