Take a regular SM Rhino and Orkify it. By Orkification, I mean adding armour, Big Shootas, "grubby engine bitz", etc. You could use this as something to base your ideas on

Here are a few good ideas:
Stick a ram on the front. You can make it yourself or get it from the Trukk kit.
Cut a hole in the Rhino to make it look like it took a hit (you can heat the plastic and bend it inwards to simulate impact) then patch it over with ork bits. Again the cabin parts from the Trukk kit work great here (the ones that look like car doors)
Remove one tank tread and relace a couple of the wheels with badly placed ork wheels. This can make the rhino tilt to one side looking very ramshackle
Add Grots firing guns, ork weapons and glyphs to the model and you are done!

Finaly post a picture! GL

and engine bitz of course Valkyrie! How could I forget! Add some exhaust pipes from the bikers/kans/battlewagon/trukk kits

Hi TNM welcome to Dakka

First off it will depend on how you want the looted Rhino to look, do you want an open topped troop transport, like a stand in for the Trukk or do you want it to have a mahosive great gun and turn it into a boom wagon?

This is a link to the one which Forgeworld sell http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Orks/ORK-LOOTED-RHINO-COMPLETE-KIT.html

What I have done in the past is to pretty much build the vehicle as intended and then take a pait of clippers, a drill and a craft knife to it to make it look properly battle damaged, then i will have a root through my box of left over bits from Ork kits and add them on somewhat haphazardly to represent the sort of ad-hoc repairs an Ork Mek would make.

One thing to bear in mind is that Ork engineering is brutal and practicle, it is not elegant or particularly neat, so say for instance you have hacked a big hole in the side of the Rhino to represent battle damage, if you cover this over do so with an oddly sized, badly cut sheet of material so that is looks rough and ready.

Another good way to "Orkify" your rhino is to get one of your Boyz, cut his legs off at the waist and have him leaning out of the vehicles top hatch firing his slugga or bellowing orders to the lads.

i also like removing the entire rear top chassis, roll bars and even adding some wheels at the front to make an almost halftrack style thing

Looting Ork vehicles is stupidly easy.
1. Get Imperial vehicle
2. Throw Ork crap on it
3. Marvel at your looted vehicle

It can even be done pretty ham-handedly since Orks aren't terribly careful when it comes to "decorating" their vehicles.

Thank you all for the ideas. Does anyone have any ideas for a evil sun paint job?

Literally type "how to paint evil sun Orks" into Google. GW also has a tutorial on their site.
