Hello all Dakka Dakka members ,

I have started doing some test models for my upcoming skyfall spearhead using IG Valkyries. I have decided that i want to put all that i have got into the painting and modelling of these minatures. The base colour of the paint scheme is Chaos black with Codex grey highlights which i am able to achieve , i also wanted to add some battledamage to this minature using the Sponge method shown here : http://thepaintingcorps.blogspot.com/2010/04/its-been-while-since-ive-really-dug-in.html , http://thepaintingcorps.blogspot.com/2008/12/friday-quick-tip-sponge-painting-battle.html. The problem that i have is knowing what colours to use i want it to look as if the paint is chipped off down to the metal as shown in the tutorial , but the thing is i am not sure what colours to use when applying the battle damage to such a dark colour scheme , i will basically need two main colours. One for the first layer of the battle damage / armour chipping and another colour that is similar to highlight the Damage / chipping. Could any of you give me a helping hand on knowing what colours to use as it would be much appreciated.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and i will look foward to hearing replys , also i would be very helpfulnows any other ways of creating realistic battle damage to larger models e.g. a Valkyrie or Rhino / Razorback tank.

Take care.
