So guys these are my Pre-heresy/Heresy era Blood Angels. Like most of us I've been an avid collector and painter since I was a kid. This army in progress is the result of liking too much the 30K background and the end of the Great Crusade. I was inspired by the HH novels and the collected visions and my friends from the TGC forum. The Blood Angels were not my 1st army of 40K, I painted and played with Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Daemonhunters and Iron Hands.

So here we go with some of the mostly completed miniatures.

Loving it, great paintjob all over. One point though, in Horus Rising, the Luna Wolves terminators have shoulder mounted guns... might want to think about that for next

Hey mate - Very simple really filed and cleaned of chaod regalia Chaos termies with Maxmini shoulder pads and heads, twin linked bolters from any space marine kit and voila

It seems odd having a furioso in a pre-heresy army, since they didn't have the problems with the Black Rage then.

Looking really cool, especially the termies, i love pre heresy termies, and is that a converted heavy flamer in the squad?

Love the sang model. I have one, but the guy I sent it to for commission painting lost the sword, so I'm going to have to do some conversion work (and stirp and repaint, not a good job).

What is the heavy flamer form? Its great looking!

Thanks everyone ! Whale the heavy flamer is from an old multi melta and the sponson heavy flamer of the Baal Predator Kit. Pm me if you want a Sanguinius painted the same way (I do commissions)

Alpharius, I would highly suggest the maxmini shoulder pads and must say that the are resin flash free and superbly cast !

Thanks, but he and 2 others (Johnson and Fulgrum) are sitting on top of my bookcase untill I get not pissed off enough at the loss of sword to look at em. Any ideas on what to use as the sword/hand (you know the piece Im talking about) for a conversion?

I would use the emperor champion's sword and greenstuff sculpt the eye of terra as it's quite easy to do

So second tactical squad complete and Angron has seen his base completed and most of the armour done, also completed a chaplain and started work on a rhino... Hopefully I can get some new pics by early next week.

Sooo some tiny updates but no pics for now... Angron is fully painted and so is the tactical squad, work started on Rogal Dorn and two 10 men Assault Squads plus some Devastators - Pics will follow soon

I thank you for your kind words dear sirs I've also completed a Rhino as of late so pics will come in short order. For those of you curious about my red recipe it's fairly simple - Mechrite Red Basecoat, Baal Red and Devlan Mud mixed wash, Blood red highlight - Baal Red wash finally highlight pronounced areas and edges with a mix of Blood Red and Dwarf Flesh.
