Ok, I took a deep breath and started uploading some pics to Dakka, here are my two commissars, C&C please.

They look really good, never seen the "bluecoat" scheme before! Well done, although painting the little details like the teeth, buttons etc would really make it stand out more.

P.S: Instead of clicking on links, if you copy and paste the code called "forum" in the gallery directly into the thread, the photo will simply show up instead of having to follow the link.

Nice job with the blue on the trim mate, I've been wondering how to make the black on the storm coat stand up on mine and I might have to rip that idea off!

On a side note, I've got the same model with the chain sword, except I managed to tread on it when it fell off and landed blade up in the carpet. It lodged right in the middle of my foot and as I hopped around my living room swearing, I plucked it out and tossed it off the balcony!

Now he has the power sword option...

good story Jihadnik, what I did with the coats was a base of enchanted blue built up with LOADS of wash and highlights...

Yeah, I just went back and had a good look, you really did!

I was just seeing the edges and thought, okay, I can just line enchanted blue along the edges of my current model and blend it a bit...which is about my current skill level...but you went to town! Now that's commitment Commissar!

When I have a spare month or two, I might try that!

I have the same commissar in the first few pics, just with the power weapon instead of the chainsword. He = awesome.

Might have to upload some pictures of my guardsmen now.. but then, I'd have to paint them..

I am working on them however.. xP

Might I suggest taking your pictures with white paper behind/under your models, in a well lit area. We'll be able to see your models much more easily then.


Oh, and while we're on a sentinel spree, mine has exploded in every single game I've ever used it in.. and my IG game count is something like 7.

So, why is the bottom part of the tunic that light green, but not the rest of it?

Im loving the cowering Imperial Guardsmen on the Lascannon. I feel your the type of guy who enjoys it when your squads break, so you can shoot a guardsmen in the face with a commissar. Hmm...shooting people with a commissar. That's new.

@CrashUSAR, I didn't like my trials of one colour for all the fatiigues so I painted the "Skirt" camo green.
