Great battle report, thanks. Sounds like the game was good fun. Oh, immobilized walkers don't get to sweeping advance either

Nice. But come on you needed to not use veterans but plain guardsmen

1750 points of Imperial Guard
500 points of Biel Tan Mech-dar

250 points of Dark Angels
I cast Magic Missile.

Real cool batrep. I like the format. Like a true servant of the Emperor, you soldiered on after that brutal first turn. (It made me cringe.)

I noticed red Squad was going up to kill some termies, but went the other way the turn after and got hosed down because of it. Why didn't you keep moving them to plasma the termies?

It doesn't really show it since it's a 2D image but there was a wall blocking LOS on the south side of that ruin. They rolled 1's for their difficult terrain move and it would have just been suicide to run them into LOS. So, I held them behind the wall to cover the objective from the Tac squad. I'm not saying it was right since I made many, many tactical blunders during the game but it was the call I went with.

Thanks for all the comments guys!

cool report. no wonder you're a fan of graphics on photos; you're a vassal person! cool combo of pics and vassal.

I've actually never used Vassal. It seems cool but I need the minis on the table when I lose.

I use a combo of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Visio to make the diagrams. Kind of an homage to the old White Dwarf batreps. I like your style of laying arrows and stuff over actual photos though.

ahhh, even fancier. my mistake. very nice regardless. it does actually remind me of the reports in the old white dwarf magazines back in 3rd edition.
