So, with the massive array of new magic items, what are your favorite character loadouts for 8th edition?

Mine would be:

Swordstorm Saurus: 250pt
Saurus Oldblood
Light Armour
Sword of Bloodshed
The Maiming Shield
Potion of Folhardiness

This Guy is cheap enough that you can bring him in games as small as 1000pt. He also packs up to 10 S5 attacks. Deffensively, he boasts T5 and a 2+ Armour save. If you have the points, a mount is optional.

Flying Death Saurus: 257pt
Saurus Oldblood
Great Weapon
Armour of Destiny
Arrabian Carpet

Built to hunt down Mages/Skirmishers/Cavalry/Lone Monsters/Warmachines/Gunlines. Flying, with a 2+ Armour and 4+ Ward, throwing around 5 S7 Attacks. Points Permitting, add a shield, for a 1+ vs Range.

Q: What do you call a Dinosaur Handpuppet?

Ethereal Slann and flying carpet. I confess I didn't come up with it, but it's an amusing idea and not completely beyond the fluff either. Maybe the "flying carpet" is actuallly just a supercharged palanquin.

"Neener Neener" Boss:

Any non-BOrc character from the O&G Book:
Fencer's Blades
Glittering Scales
Effigy of Mork

This depends heavily on certain interpretations of the rules. If as it appears, anyone WS4 or less may not hit the above character. -2 to hit in hand-to-hand combat from the Glittering Scales and the Effigy of Mork. At WS10, anyone below WS5 would require 5's to hit normally. 6-2 = 4. If the interpretation doesn't work, just drop the Fencer's Blades as you probably won't need them anyway to force most enemies to need 6's. Even without "You cannot hit", forcing someone to need 6's is nice.

"Big Red 'Unter" Boss:

Collar of Zorga
Featherfoe Torc
Charmed Shield
[Insert up to 55pt Weapon Choice Here]

Tired of those nasty ol' Bloodthirsters running amok in your lines? Well don't you worry! With this here patented Flier Hunter, you'll never have to worry about the Boyz getting their teef kicked in again. 6's to hit, re-rolling successful to hits, and the first hit of the game against the bearer ignored.

This can be easily modified in other ways too. If the "Below 6 to hit" can be achieved in the earlier build, take the Glittering Scales instead of the Luck Shield and Featherfoe Torc: Suddenly Mr. Choppy needs an impossible number to hit you. Or, think he might be taking the flaming version of his weapon? Upgrade to the Dragonhelm so that any hits that do go through can be ignored on a 2+. Works great against Dragon Mages, Uppity Elf Princes, Dark Elf Lords, and many other things too (especially the Glittering Scales / Collar).

Warning: Big Red 'unter has no defenses against Stomp Attacks. In such cases it's often better to use your last 60pts of magic items instead on a 5+ / 4+ Save and then take a typical Great Weapon for wound-dealing purposes.

Sorry, Minsc... BRB states that a natural 6 always hits and a natural 1 always misses.

Or perhaps Khorne would laugh because that champion now suffers from stupidity, the result of dealing with cowardly magic.
