So, fluffwise, this is a real character. I would LOVE to make or get hold of a Night Haunter model, but i wouldn't use him in normal games cause the statline wouldn't be anywhere near what it should be. So instead i decided to convert my lord into Captain Sahaal.

My first step was probably the longest. Cut off the head (hate the head on the lord w/ claws) file it down, and get a night lords head on it. Was pretty awkward, lol.
Looking at concept art of night haunter, there are many pics with little mini 'wings' on his shoulders or backpack, the kind from the night lords heads, so i dedided to take off the small metal poles and add them to hold the chains on the jump pack instead. I cut them off one of the night lords helmets i have lying around waiting for me to get more assault marines.

Next, with a name like the Talonmaster, i thought that the tiny-ass little lightning claws on this model needed to be replaced with something a little more substantial. I took 4 of my dark eldar jetbikes and cut the blades off of parts, and glued them in in place of the metal ones. I then took smaller blades off and put them in for the thumbs.
Then i painted him up, and here we go

I really like him! The claws are looking absolutely brutal.

The whole model is very aesthetic to look at because of it´s strong symmetry ( wings, chains leading to the skull, arms). But with the head being slightly turned the model doesn´t look too static aswell.

Is Tso Sahaal the character from the novel ,,Lord of the night"? I think I read somewhere that he passes out due to sheer rage at one point of the story (?)

Thanks. I'm not completely satisfied with him, as the chains aren't quite attached to the wings and im currently out of GS. I do very much like how the claws came out though, they're fairly seamless, even up close. But the ehad.. theres a small area of no detail where i cut off the old head, directly below the current head... you can't see it unless you really look at the model but.. lol. Perhaps i'll add a night lords insignia after taking off the arrow pointing upwards? idk.

I have Night Lords (not painted) but I hate those bulky, gross wings they have. Did you convert those wings yourself? Because they look better.

I did not convert those wings.. to be honest i like how these wings look just fine O.o

Oh then I'm probably thinking of the old Raptor helmets. I have a squad of 10 of em and I figured the Night Lords had the same style. My bad.

Personally i dislike how the current raptors look. I much prefer just getting assault marines and putting on night lords helmets / shoulder pads. looks much better in my opinion
