Before I read too much further, you DO know that you can't issue orders out of a Valk/Vendetta, right?

yes I realize this. The purpose of that valk is to let my ccs outflank along with the rest of my army. Since the blobs will most likely be in CC as often as i can get them there I don't feel like orders are much of a priority. I will get the ccs out of the valkyrie asap (situationally) so I can use them to their fullest.

Hmm not sure but IMHO you'd really need Creed asap when running him because of the order "For the honour of Cadia". Maybe it's just me, but that furious charge that the order gives really makes your infantry kick ass. I'm not sure if you actualy need Creed in this list, but I guess you can take him if you like him^^.
Other than that I think the list looks good. The Hydras and manticore should do fine, maybe you could go with 2 hydras and 2 medusas but that depends on which units you prefer (I like medusas^^).

Okay. Fair enough point; so they'll have to disembark to issue orders, which is a fraility, but not completely destructive to the army. Since you're planning an outflank army, I hasten to mention that I'm concerned about the fact that you're leaving your heavies behind. Lack of target saturation is going to make even Russes not long for this world out when completely alone. In a world where a first turn multimelta is easy to pull off, I'd be worried. You'd almsot be best off leaving them in reserve rather than letting them soak fire while everyone else comes on. On the tanks themselves: If you're staying close to table edge, Demolishers with flamers aren't the way to go. I'd do either some basilisks or some vanila Russes. Justification is that when they arrive, they can hit targets for you no matter where on the table they are. I wouldn't go with flamer sponsons, though I would go with hull flamers. That takes care of anyone having some fun and camping your edge with melee stuff hoping to get a power fist in on your newly emerging tanks. Hellhounds would be awesome. I don't like Banewolves. I have no experience backing that up other than the philosophy of "Why hit with a flamer what you can hit with a flamer from 12 inches away?". You also get better "trick shots" with the Hellhound since the small end can be in any point in that 12" bubble. Side armor 12 and being fast can keep you away from a lot of nasty stuff too. Other than the above, I think it's pretty good. Only concern I have is that one walker would just put either of your blobs at an absolute standstill for the remainder of the game. Maybe some krak grenades or a few meltabombs to help even the odds?

well, to be honest I wasn't going to leave the Demos on my edge of the table (thank you creed). They're going to get down and dirty on the outflanking action in most cases. I figure in objective missions i'll need a blob on my side to hold one of the objectives so they wont outflank for the most part (sorry i didn't make that clear).

I like the point about the hellhound- which makes a case for them being in reserve on my side of the table.

I am a little concerned about walkers as well . . . If my meltas don't come through for me, you are absolutely right.

-Fire-
Creed is a little out of place yes. If i could get LR Demolishers to outflank any other way, I would. Personally I would love to throw straken in. But at around 200pts for another kitted out CCS i feel its too many points for too few models.

And when "For the Honor" goes off, it will be a Glorious thing

I seriously question taking creed just to outflank a single demolisher. Otherwise, I seriously question taking 2 demolishers in a squad just so that creed can outflank both at the same time.

If you want a vast majority of your army to outflank, you'd be better served with things that already outflank, rather than spending an attrocious amount of points to do otherwise. For example, the amount of damage you do with the outflanking demolisher is roughly equal to that of a 3x demo SWS, which can conveniently ride in a vendetta.

-Ailaros-

Yeah Creed and Demolishers = Lots of points. What it offers is an inevitable distraction that should be difficult to kill or ignore. I will definitely give the SWS a try in the next game or two.

Actually, what it gives you a 400 point sinkhole that will show up very surprisingly (the first time you do it), and then get exactly 1 shot off every game before it gets meltad or close-combatted an instantly exploded.

the list seems pretty good. I think Ailaros, 2 demolishers out flanking and you take creed just to do it? seems like a waste take a a valk or ven or sentinels which will cost less or give you wayyy more armor. and if you are dead set on the idea of demolisher, please dont put the sponsons on it i regularly find them a waste thanks to ailaros up there showing me the light

Ok . . . so if creed and the demolishers are a sinkhole, and I am trying to go for an outflanking army, my options are Valks/vens, Scout Sentinels, and Storm Troopers.

I only have so many FA slots, and the general consensus is that Storm troopers are limited in their usage. Where do those points go I can definitely see swapping the Demolishers for Regular LRBTs or even just more Artillery . . .x2 Hydras +Manticore+ x3 Basilisks =Pain for the opponent.

While I like the idea of AV 14, target saturation is a better option.

with this set up I loose an outflanking unit and don't need Creed, but i feel like I've lost the theme of the army.

Thanks for the advice so far. I would love more suggestions on how to rework this army.

Well first i would field that basilisk squadron. The current barrage rules suck.
