Hey Dakka-Dakka-ers.
I just started convertting and painting my newest Tau model, Shas'o [Insert name here].
Anyway, basically this model is a crisis suit with "homemade" weapons, re-positioned arms and legs, and a few other minor conversions. The weapons used on this model were: a Particle Cannon, Double Flamer, and twin linked SMS. If you can help me think of a name for this new commander, that would be great .
More to the point, I'll try to keep this thread updated as much as I can, criticism is fine with me, just remember I'm only 12 years old! <-----Please don't be all immature about me 'cuz I'm 12. -.-
Anyway, that’s all for now, I’ll put up pictures ASAP.

Interesting; I shall keep an eye out for the Photos, then. I'm not a Tau Player, so I can't really help you with a Name. Unless you want something a little more Generic, albeit with some Apostrophes in there to keep it 'Tau'ish, then check out this Fantasy Name Generator. If nothing grabs you, then just Reload the Page to generate new results.
Hope you find something cool there. Looking forward to Pictures.

UPDATE:
First pics ^.^
I know the paint job sucks, and I don't have as many tools as i could, but I think this model has woorked out fairly good, better than a battlesuit at least.
Thanks for all the feedback and everything guys, very helpful. If anyone can provide me wiih a list of tools they use that would be great. *I use an Exacto Knife and a Hobby Saw.*

Yeah looks kinda good.
And about the tools I use a hobby knife and saw, a file, a hobby drill, plastic cutters, about five different sandpapers and nearly 20 different brushes. I allso have an airbrush and a small compressor for that.

How much do you think those tools would cost me in total? I'm not the richest guy in the world is all I'm saying, as well as I've only really played for about 5 months. White

It depends on where you buy them. GW is not the cheapest place, many hobby-,craft- and diy stores sell those things. And if you're a beginner i don't think you need 20 brushes or an airbrush. I'd say a fine detail brush, a standard-, a medium dry- and a large brush. And a hobby knife, the saw and a file or sandpaper are enough. I think you can get all those with under 60€ witch is about 110 NZD I think.

And the glues I supose you have but so that you now it's cheaper to buy super glue from somewhere else than GW.

Go to AC Moore. Get a pair of pliers/wirecutters (like $5), a pair of snips (also like $5), a knife with extra blades (got the one with the nice rubber grip, like $7), and whatever glue you need (superglue, and polystyrene cement for plastics).
Go to some gaming store and get Gale Force 9's set of files ($15) if you find you need to file things down often.
After that, you should be set.
Oh. Paintbrushes. Pretty much anywhere but GW's.

Hello everyone,
You may have noticed this blog has been completely inactive for... 3 days? I'm at the snow shreddin up terrain on my snowboard. Sorry guys, I didn't really have time to post this at the time. Other news, my AoBR set arrived in the mail on sunday, after this blog is finished I'll probably ask for some advice on my set. If you do notice this post, please tell me what the best space marines scheme (in your opinion) is the best, for now I was thinking White scars.
Anyway, peace out for now,
White.
EDIT: Also, I had an idea of using a black scheme with gold trim. If you have a guide or something for choosing a paint scheme or painting a particular chapter, please post away. I also was thinking of using a slightly... 'Stupid' chapter (Imperial Chickens, Emperors Pointy Sticks, etc), if you know of such a chapter, please say ^^.
