Here's a project forum beginning with my first falcon and really the start of my eldar army that i've themed around a craftworld of my own creation rather than on of the big 4 or the new ones from GW.
Will be posting up pictures as the model takes on a life of its own.

There are a big 5:

Ulthwe, Saim-Hann, Biel-Tan, Alaitoc and Iyanden.

Here are he pictures of my evolving falcon.
Primed with white spray paint and using metallic paints of gold copper and stainless steel with some dark gray for shadows and wine red and hull red for accents and free hand designs. I did it all with a paint brush so some of the lines look a little shabby and im in need of some white paint to finish of the base colour of the falcon.

Off now to find some white paint that will work. Ive tried acrylics and they dont seem to leave a smooth coat so im off to find some paints specifically suited for this sort of thing.

I see you've been using tape for the red stripes, doesn't it harm the paint?

if i leave it on after painting the strips for too long it can peel off a little bit its not a big problem. Just a little paint and a steady hand will sort of the peeled off bits. These paints im using are 'Mr. Hobby' paints from japan that we can get here in the malls and dry insanely fast.

Just apply, hold in front of a fan for 30 secs and you can put tape on the newly painted area without peeling off the paints. Theres something in the paints that give it the same smell at nail polish so im wondering if its an alcohol base paint. Explain why it dries so fast.

Ive still got a few little touch up jobs to do. The white needs to be redone as its not as bright as it shouldve been and the spray leaves small 'hole' where bubbles formed and popped. And i need black to add more depth to certain areas like the recesses around some bits and so on. Then its a gloss varnish coat and then stickers and its ready to see its first battle.

Granted i did some conversion just to add some character and flair to the unit. Though not as extreme as some other ones here and ones i've seen on the net

I has some problems with the white areas and the paint started to clump up especially with the gold but it gives it almost a look of natural gold so not bad
I had to improvise with some of the transfers and 'borrow' one or two of the other craft worlds images cause they are cool.

I like the colours, when you started off gold and white I didn't know if it was going to come together but adding the red and glyphs etc tied it in. I also like the way you've painted it nice and clean just how i imagine Eldar to be…

Yes, but im still refining it right now. All ive got so far is a basic history and some other bits pertaining to the craftworlds organization. Im having trouble deciding on the craftworld rune symbol. Will post some up here later once ive gone through it again and rewrite a few things, i wrote it in class and my hand writing is a little messy.
