Greetings all!!!

2 years ago we did the very successful Club Dice group order for my local gaming community. At the time I had begun investigating having some dice made with commonly used adjectives on them (since I hate schlepping around both dice and plastic markers/tokens) but life kinda interferred for a while. However, as Eldanesh can confirm, I've been gleefully using the prototypes I had made up for 2 years now. Now I want to have some more made in different colors and figured the most cost-effective way to approach is was a club group order. Unfortunately having images engraved on 6 sides is pricey unless you can get ALOT of people involved, so in light of that I'm extending this invitation outside of our local group. So here we go with an edited repost from my local forum...

The Details
The dice are 16mm, square-cut, laser-etched blanks that are then painted in the chosen fill color. The dice are produced by Gamestation.net here in the States.

Available Dice Colors: White,red, green, blue, black, yellow, ivory
Available Fill Paint Colors:Black, white, blue, red, green

Cost: Assuming we meet the minimum quantity requirements of 200 dice the dice will be $3 each. If we have more interested the price will drop as the number rises, as follows:
500 dice @ $2.50 per
1000 dice @$2.25 per
2000 dice @ $2 per
The prices are straight from gamestation.net as I'm doing this to get more of these for me rather than make a profit. Shipping will be a flat rate inside the US. See details below.

COST: Dice and Shipping
DICE
Dice are $3.00 (US) each. This assumes we get at least 200 dice ordered. If we don't hit that 200 mark the price would go up by $.50 (50 cents) per dice, but I'm hoping 200 won't be an issue. There is no limit to the # you can order, nor in what color combo. So if you want 5 red-white and 5 white-black and 2 black-white dice then that is fine!

SHIPPING
If you're in the Orlando, FL area there will be no shipping per se, I'll simply meet you at the FLGS when they arrive with goodies in tow. For those outside the Orlando, FL area I estimatre shipping would be $5.00 via U.P.S. Priority Mail anywhere in the U.S. If needed I can check on shipping elsewhere in the world, but I have no idea what would be involved at this time.

Thanks to the joys of flat rate shipping the shipping rates aren't too bad on the dice. However if you order over 100 dice I might not be able to get it into one flat rate package which would mean a slight increase but that shouldn't be more than a few dollars.

PAYMENT METHODS
Payment can be via personal check or money order

TIMELINE:

I've been told a 200 dice order will take 30 days from date of order to delivery, so the deadlines are as follows:
UPDATED: September 10th is last day to get in on the order -- date extended due to PayPal availability.
September 15th is the last day to pay your invoice. If you haven't gotten into the order or made your payment by those dates then you are out of luck unless we do dice again (unlikely).
Order will be placed on Sept. 16th, 2010 so that is roughly 45 days to get your order in and paid for!

Estimated day that dice will ship from the manufacturer to me: Oct. 15th, 2010.

With the Club Dice order there were some extra dice available for those who missed out on the order. That is unlikely to be the case this time around because the numbers are much smaller, so if you know someone who might be interested but isn't on the forums, have them send me an e-mail.

It'd be great if you updated this post with the number of dice currently on the order. Some people might want to order if they can have them for 2.50$ or less. I wish you good luck, however I have all the dice I need.

O wow, i would love to get a handful of these, but i don't see any need for 10 for just myself, anyway maybe i could slip a tiny order for maybe 5 or less in? if not don't even worry about it Maybe i can round the guys up, or even talk to a few FLGS out here into ordering a bunch.

You can order a single die if that's all you want, it's fine by me, so yeah, 5 is no problem, just send me the necessary info outlined in the first post via either PM or email!

I'd be more interested in these if they were Chessex dice, but then again I really am to pickey for my own good.

I'm not sure where Chessex gets their blanks from. These from gamestation are made from Koplow blanks, I believe.

I'll have to think about it, I had just assumed that the company you were useing cast their own dice. I've heard good things about kaplow dice.

In my experience, Koplow makes a far superior d6 than Chessex. Chessex dice are prone to a high rate of 1's, whereas Koplow are far more "average." They're the only d6 I use for 40K.

I can relate to that! ( -ing 's!) The prototypes have seemed quite evenly distributed for me. Perhaps the fact that the etched sides all have roughly the same amount of material removed has something to do with it.

That's part of it.
I think the squared edges are the biggest part, though.

Not being rude but why have wrecked and exploded on there? In the former case the model is turned over and in the latter it's removed.

Nice idea though, I may order a few, gotta think about it.

I dunno I rather like that it incorporates the table in full on it (even if it only works for penetrating non AP1 hits), so in theory one can simply roll these and BAM there it is, no table consulting needed. Great for new players for sure.

P.S. keeping an eye on this, I'll probably be in for five or so if you hit the $2.50 price point. I definitely second the suggestion of keeping the OP edited with the current order status.

Yeah, I think a lot of people might be interested if we can get to a $2.50 price point, but right now we're only at an order of 75

For those who would be interested if we can hit a $2.50 price point, it would be helpful if you'd let me know via email or PM as enough people interested at that point would raise us to that point!

That is correct. Gamestation charges by the total number of dice rather than by per color/fill combination, so if you were to do 2 R-W, 2 W-B and 2 B-W , for example, that would be 6 dice towards the 200 dice price point.

Wish I had the extra cash right now to get about 10 of these, but things are just too tight right now.

What is the total your at so far? (not sure if your waiting for a final number of orders before they were made) a few of my buddies want some but wont pay more then the 2.50$ I on the other hand Think it is a excellent idea and willing to buy 1-3 for myself if even at 3-4$ a pop.i have also told a few stores in the area about your dice and hopefully they will be giving you a message here or email

We're at 85 right now. I'll finalize the order out on August 31st and at that point I'l let everyone know what their final cost will be based on what our total is at that time. If your buddies want to drop me a line with a conditional order like "I want 2 B-W, but only if you hit the $2.50 price point" that's perfectly fine. It's no risk to them to express the interest, as I won't bother them if we don't hit the price they want.

UPDATE - We're up to 119 ordered so far. For those of you who have submitted an order, thanks for participating. For those of you still thinking about it, we've got 2 weeks until ordering closes. Remember, you can get as little as a single die if you want. As InquisitorMack pointed out, these make great gifts for new players to help them learn the damage system.

If a store wants to do a block of 200, I can have the EXPLODED replaced with their store logo and still have the total add in to quantity break level.
