What do you all think of this guy? He has a really good stat-line and he's inexpensive. I know he has stupidity and all but does his stat line and low cost balance it?

I was going to cop out and say it depended on what else was in the army. I don't really know if he's totally worth it, but I will say that a BSB will really help to mitigate the stupidity, giving handy-dandy re-rolls.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

hmmm.... I thought since he only goes stupid on a 4+ and then he has to fail a leadership test on top of that it only even happens 1 time out of 4. as opposed to in 7th where they just sat there and drooled....

He's fun, just keep him around your general and always issue challenges unless you're fighting multi-wound units.

This guy is absolutely epic. My VC army took on a corsair themed Dark Elf army and he managed to wipe out an entire unit of 16 corsairs in a single turn all by himself. Absolutely worth the points.

how did he wipe out 16? Red Fury doesnt keep going, and he doesnt kill 2 models for every 1. Little confused here.

5 base attacks each one that hits becomes 2 wounds. You get more attacks based on the ones that hit, which gives you an extra 5 10 attacks.

5x2+10=20

doing 1 wound to a 1 wound model does just 1, he doesnt kill 2 for ever 1 wound.

I was looking at this guy last night, and hes very effective.
Assuming he is under frenzy (the best situation), he will have 5 attacks, with a ~90% of hitting with each attack vs most foes. (2/3 to hit, rerolling misses). When fighting T3 foes, such as cosairs, he will be wounding on a 2+. 4 of those will cause causalities, and then he gets 4 more attacks.
Its not impossible for him 10 T3, Save 5+ models killed in one round.

He goes up well vs. ogres and other multi-wound models.
He has 5 attacks, and will wound on a 3+. Lets say he gets 4 wounds on the ogres. Now that doubles to 8 wounds due to his weapon. Now he gets 8 more attacks on the ogres!

With a little magic he becomes completely insane. Imagine him buffed with "Savage Beast of Horros" from Lore of Beasts!
Suddenly he starts with 8 attacks, and wounds T6 models on 2+ with a -5 armor save modifier! He can kill up to 16 models in 1 round with that spell.

Edit : Read more about Red Fury rule, edited post

Red fury doesnt include the multiple wounds you do. In the example of the ogres, Konrad would only get an extra 4 attacks.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste

Really? Bummer. I'm guessing that was FAQed.
Still, the 4 extra attacks does not suck, as they still do 2 wounds each.

Overall I stand that Konrad is really quite capable of causing chaos.

Could you find where it says that the multiplied wounds don't count please? I was pretty sure they did. Same for Killing blow - if you're in a challenge and you get a killing blow for say 3 wounds, red fury I'm pretty sure would give you 3 more attacks.

Yes FAQ states this on page 3. So how many wounds the model has is how many bonus attacks. Killing blow also takes into effect for this and does multi wound weapons. However they must have the wounds to do so IE a Orge has 3 wounds Konrad does 1 which becomes 2 therefore gets 2 more attacks. This would have no effect on a 1 wound model as you would only get 1 bonus attack.

Red fury includes the multiple wounds from the sword of templehof, provided they are inflicted on a multiple wound model. It was FAQed.

yeah.... I was looking at him too.... for 140 points he seems pretty sick. It seems like stupidity isn't anything like as horrible as it was in 7th. He only gets stupid 1/4 of the time, and even when he does, it's just not that big a deal.

Question about him: he's a vampire and therefor also a level 1 wizard who knows invocation of nehek right? I ask bc it doesnt say anything about him knowing lore of vampires in the book......

No he isn't a level 1 wizard, it says in the new faq about it. basically fluff wise he cares too much about the killing etc than raising the dead. . . But for 140 pts, he's a complete bargain.
