Please read the description for firing grapeshot from a cannon in the new rulebook and tell me it makes sense?

It looks to me like it should say roll to wound instead "of roll to hit" after rolling the artillery dice to determine the number of hits it does?

Or am I missing something.

Didn't see this one in the official FAQ

You roll to hit. The thing isn't an organ gun. It's like the hellblaster- which rolls a random number of shots, and then must roll to hit with those shots.

Still handy for close range targets that are deployed in one or two ranks.

Okay, I was a bit confused there, it used to autohit anything under a template. Now it is less accurate.

But more effective against single models, if you want to see a bright side... though I guess at that point you should be firing a normal shot anyway.

They've been moving away from auto hit shotgun affairs. Probably the only ones left are the Ogre cannons.

Leadbelchers roll to-hit just like most everyone else. They just roll the artillery dice to see how many shots, not how many hits.

The Dwarf Organ Gun auto hits with however many shots you roll.

I suggest you don't believe anything posted by thedarkavenger unless confirmed by other regular posters here at Dakka. He has shown he is incapable of basic English comprehension.

Yep, organ gun is the last autohit i can think of, 2nd to last was the ratling gun which has now been heavily nerfed.

Yeah, Organ Gun's about the only one I can think that's still like that. I expect it'll probably change after the next Dwarf book update, which will be disappointing.

Autohit is just so incredibly strong tho...

Completely negates skirmishers or models that you spend a lot of extra point to make them harder to hit.
