I'm thinking of doing a fantasy army but it will require planning. Essentially I want to make a somewhat 'hawt army' with lots of killing/blood/gore involved.

I considered Dark elves with Crone Hellbron seem good but the models are all metal = $$$$ I was thinking of the Crone + 3 core units of witch elves + some executioners, sorcoress for defence, cauldron of blood, maybe some converted demonettes on their steeds as 'cold one knights' or possibly some knife equipped shades. However this seems expensive and I'm not totally convinced on the minis involved as thy are all metal and all the 'same'

So basically it comes down to either Slaanesh or Khorne:

Slaanesh: I have ideas for converting the chariots from a box of seekers & tomb king or elfen chariors and then use the excess mounts for 2 warshrines, converting a demonette into a marilith demon lord thing and using all of the other demony bits on the warshrines or converting for chosen. However I have difficulty imagining pink chaos knights or warriors of slaanesh so I think purple will be the way. In addition I'm not sure about warhounds of slaanesh. :-( (seems a bit uncouth) But I would have more magic / magic defence than a khorne army. Finally I have ideas on converting some ogre kingdom ogres with hoods spikes and chains (gimp/slave ogres) which adds variety and theme.

Khorne: I would like to use valkia who i think is a cool idea fluff wise - she could double for a demon prince if necessary or even a magic carpet lord. I could also sculpt brass collars onto the warhounds where appropriate. I have ideas for warshrines and I think I prefer the colour scheme of Khorne's red however it lacks on the sexyness as its mostly dudes in red armour with some marauders thrown in. However I could use man-eaters with sufficient khornate additions as my ogre unit and chaos knights of khorne are awesome. My only problem is lack of magic defence really :-( But by doing an army with her I have limited other characters at 2000pts and absolutely no magic defence. I could always have a 'captured' fire wizard or something but I'm not sure.

Basically I'm asking for opinions, advice and ideas if anyone has them.

Question number one. How are you going to make them, uh 'hawt'.
I'd say Khorne, because... BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!!

Khorne - with Valkia, with lots of blood gore. I mean hawt aestethically I guess as opposed to outright pervishness of some slaneshi minis
EDIT: however I could be pervy and convert demonettes into chosen or forsaken (forsaken might make more sense as they have the mutations..) and a few chains etc... I got inspired by this

I'd not say that's 'hawt', so much as, really bloody disturbing.
How about you do dark elves if you want to do something 'hawt' since their is no way anything chaos will look the part without so much converting that it won't be worth it.

No need to throw out Dark Elves just yet. If you like the Daemonettes, why not just make them your witches? With a bit of converting to keep a Dark Elf feel you can get a serious Witch Cult going on. 'Hawt'.

And have you considered Chaos DAEMONS? Like more aesthetics you can fiddle with, as Daemons' forms are technically as diverse as the thoughts that produce them. Might give you more leeway into what you want your army to look like.

Someone converted daemonettes into some Awesome looking witch elves.

By following what he did, it costs roughly the same as buying the metal witches them selves.

Hes also done Blackguard from spearmen!

I like to keep costs down although I did consider DK. I might wait a few years until they are re-done and they make all plastic minis. :-) Or when I'm a well paid rich person!

I also like plastic where possible as its more scratch resistant, you can get spikier bits from it and its easier to convert!

I've been thinking more of the conversions which make the army fluffy/what it is:

Lilith Hesperax with some wings as valkia - I don't like the the living saint conversions and the helmeted head is more Khornate

A de-imperiumed, de-eviceratored Sister repentia as hero/champion (forget gimp masks - EXECUTIONER hoods! BFTGB RRAAR!! SKULLS! et cetera)

Converted demonettes as chosen - fluff wise with Slaanesh being god of excess these are warriors who giving into excess blood lust converted to khorne-ism as he's the only thing worth fighting for now. Give them kickass swords they're chosen. Possibly use them as posessed either as they would have the girbbly bits and fast movement but possessed seem a bit naff rules wise. That said they might

Using one of the repentias torsos on bloodcrusher legs to make a crusher mounted female hero

Corpse carts with the other 2 juggers either as chariots or warshrines - not sure which yet though.

Ironguts as Chaos Ogres of Khorne - they have sufficient crunchy weapons, Chaos Armour and are sufficiently kick ass :-)

I then need something like a flayed/tortured (poss Slaaneshi) sororer, who is trapped by the warband but I might be able to use the corpse cart necro as this by adding some chains or shackles to the mini.

Other additions would be liberal use of chain and skulls as well as proper icons from GW :-)

Feedback on the ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!

I've got to say I really like the idea of a sexy Khorne army, even if it probably would be expensive/tricky, having like all female bloodletters lots of bronze bondage gear type stuff on different characters and everything else, that would be just awesome ti see.

To the OP, have you thought of using Non GW stuff. Reaper and hasslefree have some good models you can use.

and i'm sure they have much better representations of what a "sexy" khorne army would look like.

some more:

Some a bit too risque for putting up on the forums but I'm sure out of the thousands of minis on there you can find a good variety for your warriors/lords and whatnot.

Snazzy... I like reaper alright... I would like to keep it relatively GW legal though.

I've done a quick job on a sister repentia to use as a champion... if DE do have plastic wyches, them + some demonettes could make chosen :-)

in friendly games, generally they don't care if you use toys from wall mart as long as they are on the correct base. most of the time at local Tournaments the model has to be at least 50% gw, and for GW sanctioned events it has to be 100% GW with at least part of the original model.

The new wyches if they're out might make better handmaidens of khorne though... I still need to work on valkia too.

Only problem is that my logal group .. most of them are doing 'evil' including one chaos player. However I already have Lizzies and WE so I think an evil army is overdue.

Failing that its vampire counts but the only issue is that while I will definatly not be using any GW minis there's a LOT of zombies, skeletons and the like to paint. And it's generally built around one minature and often themeless/conversionless. I'm not sure...

Local Chaos player is not wanting chaos and selling it cheap - my project idea LIVES! ITS ALIVE I TELL YOU ALIVE!!

Dear mods: I thought it better to continue the thread so that my train of thought can be followed

Anyway I was thinking of this list:

Valkia The Bloody, shieldmaiden of Khorne

Exalted Hero w/Great Weapon, helm of many eyes and mark of khorne

12 Chaos Warriors - full command, mark of Khorne, extra hand weapons

30 Marauders w/Full command, mark of khorne

30 Marauders w/Full command, mark of khorne

10 chaos warhounds

4 ogres w/ great weapons, mark of khorne and chaos armor

10 Chosen (Handmaidens of Khorne) w/Full Command, makr of Khorne and extra hand weapons

5 Chaos Knights w/ full command, mark of Khorne

Chaos Warshrine - mark of Khorne

There's really no reason you could not use Witch Elves as Marauders (don't give them flails or shields unless you convert them).

It might not even be too much work to convert plastic Dark Eldar Wyches to be marauders. Using the Hellions as Marauder Horsemen could work as well, I think, with acrobatic women standing up on their horses.

You could also look at using the female Dark Eldar Warriors as Chosen. They would require some converting of weapons, but they would all be in weird looking chaos armor, and unnaturally strong. The wyches appear waaaay too lightly armored to be chosen.

I have some wyches lying about..hmmm - they could be interspersed in some units...

I've got this army list thread which is taking a life of its own. BUT if I'm running halberds then I will need to convert the warriors (no way I'm shelling out near £30 for some halberds!) my marauders are partially converted with great weapons which I think is best for them. I'm planning on making them tough and horde-y

I converted my warriors by getting a bunch of empire halberd heads then taking the extra banner pole arms and cutting them down a bit. The extra bits I cut off, supplemented with some plastic rod, made the shafts for some others.
To save some time and money you can always just model some with 2HW or S&B; so long as most have halberds and you remind your opponent it is fine.

But that's pretty much all metal - I had thought of a khanite army - hellbron, assassins, CoB, witch elves and executioners... but too expensive.

The bloody khorne will be the way... I'll have cool characters, cool ogres, blood thirsty hordes of marauders and an awesome warshrine
