Hi All,

I've always liked the look of the SM thunderfire cannon and after having over 20 of my DE warriors blown to little tiny pieces by one (thank god for the archon and his incubi were there to save the game) i decided to put together a 1700 point list using 3 of them.

HQ
- Master of the Forge
4 x servitors

Troops
- 10 man Tactical quad
1 x plasma gun, 1 x Missile Launcher, sarge with bolt pistol and chain sword

- 10 man Tactical quad
1 x melta gun, 1 x Lascannn, sarge with bolt pistol and Power fist

- 10 man Tactical quad
1 x melta gun, 1 x Lascannn, sarge with plasma pistol and Power fist. Razorback with Tl Lascannons
300 points

- 10 man Scout squad
9 x Sniper rifles, 1 x Missile Launcher, all with Camo Cloaks

- Dreadnaught with 2 x Tl Auto cannons

TOTAL: 1700 points

The idea is for all the squads to split into 5 man groups. snipers to deploy with the thunderfire cannons (2+ cover saves anyone?), the Heavy weapon squads and razorback holding the main line with the special weapon squads running interception. The dreadnaughts going after any elites and light armour with MoF backing thm up.

I'm aware that against an armour heavy army i will get kicked, so don't point that out please, but anyother advise would be geat.

This list gives me alot more mobility, with 4 mounted combat squads (Meltagun squads for tank hunting and flamer squads for objective raiding with the dreadnaught bringing up some mobile fire support), the land speeder is planned for a suicide run earily in the game to take out any key armour before they get a chance to use it. I've taken two individual scout squads so i could take the extra missile launcher (to be deployed with the thunderfire cannons for the 2+ cover save) and as I have dropped down to one dreadnaught, sacked MoF for a Librarian in termi armour with Null Zone to increase my chances of getting past the IS of any charging ICs and Smite to add a little extra punch to my short range firing line. Leaving the thunderfire cannons to blast template spam the enemy however they see fit (12 templates from the three per turn, 15 possible with the scouts and tac missile launchers too!)

so, I think i've sorted out the major problems, but have not played marines before. Again, comments and advise welcome.
