Does anyone know of any picture websites which have all the old style veteran sergeants the metal ones in the 1990's (like the catalogues in back of the old White Dwarfs). I'm looking for inspiration for building my Chapter Guard, plus it will make it easier when I'm hunting the miniatures on ebay or Bartertown.

GW still sells them but only with their squad (really the only way they were ever available). in the old days, they had a boxed set of 10 guys with the sergeant for $30-$35 and then blisters with normal guys/special weapons/heavy weapons/captains.

even if you don't want to buy them, they have pics of them also (which is the second thing you're looking for). hope that helps. other than that, you can try your luck with ebay or bartertown for used model collections.
