I was at Claymore in Edinburgh on saturday, and it was safe to say that my wallet came away with numerous wounds!
As i've been planning a Crimson Fist army for a while i was looking for some second hand recruits and i found them!all fifty of them as well as five terminators.
The bizarre and worrying was this;on one trade stand there was a single terminator painted silver, red left shoulder pad.Nothing wrong with that right?Wrong!
The shoulder pad had a swastika on it...I kid you not!Whoever the owner was they must have been really popular at their club!
The marines I got were strange to say the least;majority of them painted reasonably well as Templars, with mould lines totally destroying the finish.
The other surprise came when i dipped them in dettol to take the paint off.
They'd had a white undercoat, then painted blue, then red before finally black!Talk about crisis of confidence.
Overall it was a good show.If anybody is on the lookout for the quirky and unusual I suggest you check out Scheltrum minis 28mm victorian sci/fi,i might get some myself just for the hell of it!

Lots of my models have swastikas on them...

But seeing as I play WW2 Germans, Finns and Samurai, I cant see I understand your level of outrage!

Us historicals are a bit less difficult to get bothered by such things.

Now paint your French Voltiguers with the wrong colour buttons and we will send round the Inquisition!

Please note: you are not Captain Planet. Exposure to a swastika will not cause you harm.

I was just glad to see they didn't have the WWII German re-enactors at Claymore that were at Carronade earlier this year. It's one thing to have space marines with swastikas, quite another to have full size Wermacht wandering about.

I agree it is bizarre to go painting swastikas on your space marines. Even if you are trying to rehabilitate the symbol or making a comment on the politics of the Imperium rather than expressing your own political affiliation sooner or later you are going to upset somebody. What's the point?
