Hi, I've recently got back into warhammer fantasy and I'm starting Warriors of Chaos(i last played Beastmen, but my LGS died at the time so I sold or gave most of them away).
Here's a list I cobbled together based around models I've collected now and then.
Anyhoo, I've always wanted to do a Tzeentch themed force that wasn't just an over-glorified bodyguard for a sorcerer lord on a dragon/disc. Now with the new parry rules MoT seems like a solid choice instead of just a point filler option.

with this list, i originally had it with MoT, but with the size of the units i currently have(I do intend on making most of my infantry units 25man minimum) the MoT lost a lot of it's value. I also intend on taking a Chaos Warshrine in the future to buff up my larger units.

Chaos sorceror, lv 2, 50pts of items.(originally i had it with Infernal puppet and the 6+ wardsave common item,, but any suggestions are welcome)
170

12 Chaos warriors, shields, and full command.
222

15 marauders with flails and full command
95

10 chaos hounds, scaled(6+ save) *i really didn't know what to do with the extra 10 points i had left over.
70

5 Mtd marauders with flails and musician.
81

5 chaos knights, full command
250

2 chaos spawn.
110

998

Never, ever suggest to me to take a Daemon prince with the lash, and obliterators to me when I ask for advice about my chaos army.

The Marauders with fail could use a few more figures - 1 spawn (55) plus the 10 points for the scaled armour on the hounds would add 13 more bodies. 28 marauders should be a strong unit at 1000 points.

If your not a fan of more Marauders, I would review the Mounted Marauders, Hounds and Spawn. All three are supporting units rather than main combat units - 261 points for these units seems a bit much at 1000pts.

Personally at this points cost I'd scrap the mounted marauders and use the points to bulk up your foot marauders unit. In 20-40 strong blocks these guys can work well. But need the extra bodies to soak up damage on the getting into and lasting in battle. Otherwise it looks like a pretty solid 1k army.

yeah, i was planning on making a marauder unit of 30 with handweapon and shield with the Mark of Tzeentch.

But, i wanted to re-learn the game and get some more people interested before I buy too many miniatures. Nothing worse than having a fully painted force and no one to play against(Alas my poor Highborn Covenant force for warmachine)

I know the feeling. Currently painting up beastmen. Will have to travel by train an hour or two to get to nearest fantasy players. But it'll be worth it.
