Say I'm firing a scraplauncher and misfire; the result is a 2 (move 3d6 in a random direction). I roll the scatter die to determine the direction and combined with the 3d6, the result would be off the table. What happens?

It just runs off the table has to make a movement to come back on the next turn. The table edge isn't like say 40k where it says you can never run your units off the table. In WFB a unit is only destroyed for going off the table edge if it is fleeing.

Neither do 40k worlds, otherwise reserves couldnt come on. There is a common misconception that somehow the board edge is impassable terrain (ref most discussions on drop pods scattering off the table.)
You are just not given permission to go outside the board area except when running away

So wouldn't the Scraplauncher stop at the board edge since it is neither pursuing nor fleeing?

If the only allowances for moving off the board are through pursuiing or fleeing, then it would stop. Unfortunately 250 miles from rulebook right now so canot check if there is a general allowance to move off -there didnt used to be in 7th. In fact if someone fled off the table from a charge you had to stop at the edge of the table, you could only run off if they fled from combat.

On page 27 of the BRB there is a section called "Moving off the board".
It states, "Except in the case of fleeing troops and pursuing troops, units are not permitted to move off the board."
Pretty straight forward.

Majin has it. As written, the scraplauncher stops at the board edge.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”
