I'm just building up some Vindicators for my Blood Angels and I'm wanting some thoughts on how people tool them up?

Are siege sheilds worth it, as the tank looks great with them. Like to include it however BA Vindi's are already high in points cost.

Also do people ever put storm bolters on them?

How much are they?

Better take two; at 250 points, they can certainly wreak havoc against enemy land riaders

and if one dies, hey! you've still got the uvva one.

And, siege shields are thumbs up.

Don't give them anything else though. They have a SB on the top, so if for some reason they can't fire their main gun, they can fire that, also, it stops your 125 point investment from being totally useless should it arise the maing gun is destroyed.

Vindi's already come with a storm bolter basic, since IRS demolished cannon is an ordinance wepon I'd say a siege shields a great idea, trundle it in the midlle if cover in the midlle of the board with no terrain tests needed and blast away with str10ap2

Lso storm bolters are great dummys at anoying your oponent if the main gun gets blown off with a siege shield and luccifer pattern engine move 18 and just storm as many enemy troops as possible,

Thanks for the advice. Was going to magnetise the Storm sheild but think I will now just glue them in place (Tank looks way better with them).

Blood Angel Vindi's are about 15 pts more because they are have Lucifer engines making them fast. Move 12" and fire the Demolisher cannon ftw.

I have 2 of them and will fill the last HS slot with a Dakka Pred.

Does the BA vindicator allow for dozerblades like the SW one? If they do, thats all you need. It changes a 1/6 chance to a 1/36 chance and thats pretty much all you need to get by. 5 points cheaper than a Siege shield anyway.

Yeah, but snake eyes kill me, so a siege shild ,if you have the points, is a worth investment. Dozer blades are good too.

When the Cannon gets popped, they make great ramming vehicles too

storm bolters are only useful once your vindicator has suffered a weapon destroyed and then only marginally so. as for siege shields... it only takes one immobilized result on a key unit like that to tell you if it's useful! i'd always put it on, especially since the actual model looks SO MUCH cooler with it. the whole point of paying so much for the BA vindicator (IIRC it is 20 or 30pts more than a marine one) is that it's a fast vehicle that can move 12" and still fire off the big gun. that's a 36" threat range that your opponent has to worry about when facing one. once you lose that because you happened to run over a branch in a forest, you're left with a really expensive unit with a short ranged gun that is hull mounted so stuck firing only in a 45 degree arc in front of it.
