I play and model 40k minatures.. as a disappointment to many (I am sure) I am yet another servant of the ruinous powers and as such a firm believer that Gav Thorpe should be strung from a tree in hell and tormented by Pink Horrors and Nurglings until someone re-writes codex chaos. That little rant out of the way.... I have read these forums a bit just as a guest and quite liked the community and, in some cases, the sheer skill on show from some of the model makers/painters.

Well thanks for the warm welcome! I probably should have mentioned I have been playing since 2000 and have read a lot of the fluff for Fantasy and 40k, I also collected numerous other armies (Necrons, Tyranids, Vampire Counts, Warriors of Chaos and Grey Knights) but Chaos Space Marines are my main mons.

Tried it. Orks are fun.. but they're not evil enough for me, they're not the big bad of 40k and well.. I just can't say no to a good villain!

Welcome to Dakka. Good to see people joining who're already familiar with the storyline, it leads to good discussion or debate rather than constant Q & A threads (some, other forums are terrible for those). Incidentally, we started gaming around the same time.

And I might as well state that I am a scion of darkness too. Sure, I have other armies, but I've do got a 40k daemon force (currently at 1000pts, or will be when I build the last 3 bloodletters...), 2k pts of black legion and death guard (some of it from early 3e when all the 2e figs were around, lol.), and a 3k pts warriors of chaos army for WFB that I'm just starting work on now...

Nice! Yes..I can see how constant Q and A threads could be a little grating lol. Rather than ask people I used to just hunt the answer down myself.. was good fun in some cases and I picked up other information a long the way. Currently I have a 7.5k CSM army which is mixed allignment between all the powers but as with most armies Undivided/Black legion make up the most, followed by Khorne berserkers, thousand sons and then a smaller amount of Nurgle and Slannesh. I also have a 2k point Daemons of Chaos army (which was formerly part of my 10k point CSM army until some tosser decided to split them up, luckily at that point level I can play apocalypse and just use them all anyway).

I did have a 1k point Warriors of Chaos army (it was incomplete) but I sold it and my Vampire counts 3k point army a few years back to concentrate on 40k (figured I could just use my daemons if I wanted a fantasy army and hope my opponent wasn't too anal about base shapes and the fact my daemon prince looked very space marine esque lol))
