Ain't no war. Starcraft is petty in scale compared to 40k.

How exactly doe one of those tiny magazines carry 200 .50 cal rounds? Unless they're fairly short rounds, which kinda isn't as impressive.

An M1911 pistol has .45 cal by default.

It takes five minutes to establish a base, and ten to expand- while it takes a single load of reinforcements months to cross the warp to the battlezone. Pumping out two marines a minute means that they could be even more numerous than guardsmen when it all went down.

Cloaking too, might dramatically change the nature of the battle. As far as I know, there are no cloakable units in WH40K, other than the Grey Knights Shrouding ability. A single squad of cloaked banshees could take apart a marine force in short order.

Long term, I agree that 40k would win- there are just too many of them. I think it much more likely that it will become a Damocles Gulf style stalemate.

The really big question is- Will the Overminds hate each other? Or join in the single largest psychic mating ritual of all time?
Assuming they could deal with the pop cap limits. And there's no vespene gas in 40k, and crystals are hardly a common site.

I doubt they'd stand up to the Guard's vets.

They'd have a hard enough time cracking open a chimera, seeing as their only special weapon is a flamethrower.

And the Reapers could probably use their D-8 charges if the situation becomes desperate. Link to Reapers

Yeah... no. That grenade launcher wouldn't penetrate the frontal armor of a chimera. While the demolition charges might be able to, the Guard has their own demolition charges which are equally powerful but far more stable (and more common). And that's not even getting into the heavier aspects of the Imperial war machine. Or the sheer numbers the Guard is able to put in place even in small battles.
