Hi there, I've been wanting to try and give my Manticor camo netting.....The first thing that came to mind would be to use bandage gauze stretched thin and painted the appropriate color, maybe with some leaves or grass attached to the net.
Does anyone have any suggestions for camo netting? Or critique about the idea I'm currently running with?

Gauze is the most common option.
I did this one using a blue and white patterned dishcloth, washed with yellow ink. It's not perfect, but does the job.

I tried the FW masterclass technique - Soak a bandage (cheap cloth one) in watered down PVA wood glue, squeezed it out and pushed it into place, then cut strips of masking tape and glued em down with superglue then painted the model like normal. Worked rather well as the masking tape strips really add to it

Why?
Oh wait, not the tactics forum.

I've actually seen this done to good effect before. There are two things that make it possible:
1.) inorganic gauze. Cotton rots. Get something synthetic.
2.) once you've kind of teased it out, dunk it in some slightly watery PVA glue. This will cause the gauze to harden into shape once you've draped it on your model.
It really appears to be that simple. Make sure you throw some assorted crap in the gauze between putting it in glue and putting it on the model to represent tree branches and the like (if you want that).

Well, the main reason I'm putting it on, is that: a) i think it looks cool, b) lets pay for the upgrade, and see if it's gonna be worth the points value in the game. if it doesn't, of course i'll drop it from my list.....but i'll still have a cool looking model.
But alright. 'Tis awesome to know the ways people can make this work.

if you want to make it removable try covering your vehicle with (fing dyslexia I've forgotten the word i need now, umm you know that stuff you use to keep food fresh,,,,,, clingfilm thats the one) yeah a loose clingfilm then drape your glue enriched bandage over the top once its hardened you can remove it from the model and keep it safe elsewhere when you don't want to use it, or you could use the clingfilm then paint a thin later of resin over that and press the gause into the resin that should be hard enough to survive storage and you could experiment with tent poles around the vehicle to create a covered work area for the crew?
sorry i got carried away there didn't I

I'm told that cheesecloth, once painted, is very effective camo.

As noted multiple times by others Cheese cloth or medical gauze. Both work great. Just water down some pva glue and drape it over the model where you want it and BAM insta camo netting. Then just paint to match. /Ive done it before.
here's an example posted on another forum.

My mom threw the thing out years ago, but I used an onion sack. The older kind that was made of some kind of natural fiber, not like the new ones that are obviously plastic. Spray painted it with Krylon camoflage colors and made a set of poles to hold it up. Real camo nets aren't just laid over the top of vehicles, it doesn't break up the shape. You build a sort of tent and drive the vehicle underneath.
If you build the camo tent like a piece of terrain then you can put any vehicle you want in it.
