Alright so this is my first list for Imperial Guard. It's pretty troop heavy. I've never played a good game against IG. My Black Templars have always ended the game by turn 5, total massacre. But, here's what I'm looking at for my Catachan.
Keep in mind, this is for a casual Friday night game. Nothing for a tournament.

Hey how goes it?

Is Catachan a theme your going for or do you just happen to use Catachan mini's? if its a theme your looking at adding Straken, Harkin, Marbo and sct sentinels.

This is just off the top of my head and as always feel free to ignore me.

I was going to a bit by bit analysis of each of you options but there is just too much that needs changing

I don't mean to be rude ut this is a mad list. You've gone over board on addons and lack focus. Guard are not about quality they're quanity, this HQ is hugely over costed and confused. You need to decide what you want yours squads to do and gear them toward that purpose. All guard units should be specialised rather than general, our men just ain't good enough to do every thing.

Rewrite the list and drop all of the addons (these should be things you buy with spare points or to optimise a unit to one particular role), drop conscripts and storm troopers.

My advice is write a list with everything a bare as possible and then start adding stuff if it helps the squad perform the role they are designed for. Stay away from vox, sniper rifles and boltguns. Also look around at some of the list other dakka users have come up with.

I see the CCS has pretty much every upgrade which come in the box. You don't need the boltgun, the standard perhaps not the medi-kit because you have carapace armour and camo cloaks. I would sort out what you want from the CCS because atm it's a mess. Consider mass special weaps or Creed for a foot list.

Same as above for the PCS. You've also got short ranged weaponry i.e melta and flamer on foot which will never reach the target.

Infantry Platoon (386)
Command Squad
Bolt Pistol
Medi-Pack
Vox
Meltagun
Infantry Squad
Bolt pistol - 2
Power Weapon

Conscripts

Same as above.

Veterans (195)
Harker
Vox-Caster
Sniper Rifle
Sniper Rifle
Sniper Rifle
Lascannon
Forward Sentries

Snipers are a bit naff and why a lascannon? Lascannon is anti tank snipers anti troop, bad weapon synergy.

Veterans (240)
Plasma Pistol
Power Weapon
Vox
Flamer
Meltagun
Grenade Launcher
Grenadiers
Chimera
Dozer Blade

You don't want a power weap as 10 S3 I3 guys don't win combat and you don't need the vox as in a vehicle and also the weaponry is mixed up, bad synergy again. Needs all the same specials for the same role, not a mix.

Veterans (200)
Vox
Metlagun
Meltagun
Meltagun
Grenadiers
Chimera
Dozer Blade

Better. Doesn't need grenadiers.

Storm Troopers (190)
5 added troops
Power Weapon
Bolt Pistol
Flamer
Meltagun

10 S3 I3 guys don't win combat, again. Also mixed weapon roles. Should just stick to the hotshots personally as anti infantry. I guess meltas aren't too bad if you have the points.

Leman Russ Demolisher (210)
Multi Meltas
Lascannon
Extra Armor

Ditch the lascannon, you don't need it. Multi meltas meh because you're 24" away but I guess get the S8 AP1 shots. Up to you on that, don't need extra armour either.

Leman Russ Demolisher (200)
Heavy Bolters
Extra Armor

You don't need heavy bolters. The main blast can bust infantry easily along with vehicles.

Hope that helps!

This is a 1000 point list that has been horribly bloated all the way up to double its points value.

If you don't have the models to play without all these upgrades, then that's fine, but I would highly suggest playing at a much lower points level, as this army is likely to just get thrown off the field every game (unless facing opponents who also have horribly bloated lists).

Yeah I see y'alls point when you say it's bloated/overly upgraded.

I need to remember these are not my Black Templars, who I equip every unit to be able to do infantry and tank busting.

I will revise the list and post a new one tonight.

You've spent far too much on all sort of upgrades.

Every CCS needs a regimental standard and a vox. Then, probably get a HWT or 2 special weapons.

Every PCS needs a vox and 3 special weapons (I suppose you could take a HWT and 0-1 special)

Every PIS needs a special weapon, and a HWT and/or power weapon. Work out how many squads you will be blobbing up, get one vox to serve that many squads. If a blob will be closing with the enemy, or you just really need it to hold against assaults, buy one commissar per blob.

Conscripts are completely useless compared to infantry blobs.

Veterans are best fielded with 3 of the same special weapon, a transport, and thats it. I suppose dozer blades can be useful, although you won't need them every game.

Storm troopers as fighting models are overpriced. If you take them, a minimum sized unit with only 2 meltaguns would be a good way to deepstrike and nuke vehicles.

Never take extra armour on any LR variant. Hull lascannons aren't a very efficient upgrade, neither are MM sponsons, but it's allowable. HB sponsons are a mistake on a tank where the main gun is low AP, due to the way wound allocation rules work.

Basically, take all the upgrades off everything, stick on sensible weapon choices (yes, this means no bolt pistols!) and an efficient vox/commissar/regimental standard network.

Hope that helps.
