Does anyone else have the problem of ordering a white dwarf subscription and waiting months to get the first one? First time, I got mine for Xman 2 years ago and I didn't get my first one until march or april. Then I got another one this year in may and still haven't received my magazine (However, I am on vacation so it might be at the house when I get back). Does anyone have this problem?

It took me 2 or 3 months to get my first copy, now they come every month. Although it makes me made that I dont get my copy until after my FLGS gets theirs.

I recently had a problem where my WD stopped coming. I called up GW, and it turns out that my address for WD hadn't been updated when I moved from California! I updated my address on my account at the GW website, but the support rep told me that data base is entirely seperate from the WD mailing database (Brilliant!).

They did right by me, though. In addition to updating my address, they are sending me the two issues I missed free of charge, no questions asked.

Yeah, my girlfiend got me the sub for christmas and it took 3 month before it started to arrive, she hasd to fill in the form three times as each month when we went into GW to question it they rang the distribution people and they had no record of the sub.

I did get a few free copies tho from the store to say sorry for it not arriving, now it's all sorted and i get it a week early every month.

My WD has a tendency to arrive 3 weeks after everyone else has got theirs, by that time I already know what is inside it...

As an update to my previous post, my missing issues of WD arrived yesterday from the GW mothership...via FedEx!

I got home and there was a 6"x12"x10" box waiting for me. When I opened it up, it contained 2 magazines and several of those inflatable air bladder pads. The fast service is nice and all, but I would have been ok with them arriving by regular mail sometime next week!

At least the cat got a new box to play in

Okay, so I don't feel all bad missing out on some magazines.

Most magazines make you wait for a couple of months before you get the first issue.

Same experience I had with ordering my first subscription of WD. And you know, I will probably not be re-subscribing because 80% of the magazine is a damn advertisement and I won't pay another 80 bucks for that.

Really? There is hardly any advertising except from GW but there is a but ton of stuff in WD. Why do you think the magazine is SO expensive? GW doesn't sell out magazine space for ads.

What are you talking about? Of course they sell out magazine space for ads.. Half the magazine are ADS for their products

I understand your point but just because they dont receive revenue from outside sources does not make their own advertisements not advertisements

If anything they CHARGE the customers for the lack of ad revenue by making the magazine crazy expensive

Thats not selling something to yourself that you already own isn't selling. The reasons other magazines are so cheap is because they have a butt ton of ads but white dwarf has only GW ads which means they have to spend money money to get their own ads printed so it costs more so they can make a profit. I never said they didn't have ads, but they don't sell any ad space. Also, there aren't that many ads.
