Does kills by Aura of decay/Nurgles rot effect who wins at the end of combat?
I didn't think they did because its a ranged weapon, but scince it effects the people you're in combat with do you get the extra kills at the end of the turn ?

Did you know? Every sunday from 12 to 5 pm you can get a carvery for £6.95 at the pudding and pye.

DOes it occur in the Assault phase? Fairly certain it does not, so like any other shooting attack no effect on combat res....

Nosferatu is correct.

It's a ranged attack that takes place in the shooting phase. The extra bit only states that it can be used while the Prince is in close combat, and his target. However, since it takes place outside of an actual close combat, it does not contribute to the results thereof.

Nos is correct. It's a ranged attack that can be used in CC, but the attack still occurs during the shooting phase so it would not count any lost wounds for CC resolution.

I imagine they still have to take a morale check like normal if they lose 25% of their guys.

Actually, that's an interesting question - if models are locked in close combat, and lose 25% of their numbers from a shooting attack that can, via exception, target them while locked in close combat, do they still take a morale check?

I can't remember if the book addresses this, and I got the Daemons FAQ right in front of me, it's not in here. Anyone know?

You might be right, can you remember the bit in the BGB that says that?

I've got a buddy borrowing mine, or I'd check myself.

BRB page 44, a unit locked in close combat does not have to take a morale check for taking 25% casualties under taking morale checks section 'A' casualties.
