I've seen various things...

But what way is the right way?

1 Ork Warboss (Power Klaw, Twin-Linked Shoota, Cybork Body, 'eavy Armour, Boss Pole) 110 points.

That's a sample of what he could have, what would you do? This is when a Big Mek is the other HQ as well.

I think the mega armour is probably a better deal than having 'eavy armour and a cybork body. Granted, you may move slower in the movement phase, but you always have your 'Run' move and the Mek's KFF should negate most of the need for a cybork body (it gives the same benefit out of combat).

I don't play Orks but having a look at the Codex it seems the more...cost efficient (?) method.

Why don't you give him a warbike? so he gets to the enemy line faster and perhaps more bikers for his retinue.

The same reason you run Warbikes is the same reason you wouldn't equip it to the boss.

Green tide doesn't use bikes. Lots of boys slogging across the field. If you are playing a large game then consider investing in Ghaz. If you have four full mobs then the extra assault range will help you a lot. And he is no slouch himself. In a smaller game I find that PK, attack squig, eavy armour, and cyborg body is invaluable. No need for fancy guns because he will be running, and the turn he hits cc he will have run.

I think Gaz is the way to go - Yes he is slow but he helps your whole footsloggin force witha guaranteed 6 inch WAAGH - not to mention he's a beast in CC. Id go with Gaz points permitting.

Well Chris that's the thing... it's either Ghaz or the Boss, people are biased due to the SnP rule and some people aren't. When I used Ghaz for the first few times I never had to use transport.

It depends on how you run your army. But I saw your post on your green tide so I will assume he will be walking.

So with that. a PK, cybork body, eavy armor and a bosspole. After that its your call. I love taking a kombi skorcha. I mean a one shot str 5 flamer for 5 pts is a steal!

I wouldnt give him a warbike unless he has a group of bikers to roll with and I wouldnt give him mega armor unless he is in a transport.

Can't you see we have been abandoned? Forget matters of duty and honor to the emperor this is now a matter of pride.

Should probably make this a poll or something.

I need someone to post a few good points on why either or would be good or bad.

hmmm.... Ghazghkull looks cooler, is bigger than a normal warboss (appearance), way better stats and is a true classic- plus people are more impressed in a well painted Ghazghkull than a well painted warboss (unless it is an awesomely converted one).

In personally like running a biker boss in a green tide as he at least partially makes up for the mobility issue of that kind of army. Gazz of course does his thing, and does it well.

Honestly? The warboss. But I also hate hate hate SC. They just seem so power gamey. I mean more power to ya if your looking to play at a competitive lvl but unless the SC bring something special to the list that you have to have in order to work. Like wazdakka for an all biker army I feel that SC are a but un called for in friendly games on a saturday afternoon.

Plus with your own warboss you can give him your own touches as well as a name and fluff if your into that sort of thing.
