Anyone know of any good gaming in the ATL?

What I know about... I live in NE ATL, so it's either Phoenix Games, The Tower, or the Gaming Pit...

First things first...

Gaming Pit: the place reaks... as in smells, and I think more devoted to Magic and other card games

Phoenix Games: This place is the nicest in ATL, and might be the nicest I've seen ever. The lighting is so nice, it's the only place besides my house where I'll paint and hobby. PG has really really nice tables, but they are all 1" off which is only slightly annoying. The store really did start off awesome, but it's gone a tad down hill imo. They got me into PP games, and FoW, but their inventory has some major issues when it comes to anything GW (one whole complete bare wall where there used to be 40k). I've heard a million rumors as to why... relations with GW, behind on bills etc. I'm not gonna speculate but if that were fixed it'd be awesome.

The Tower: Tower has a lot of everything, board games, DnD, cards, and of course table top gaming. The tables could be better (a lot better) and the store terrain is only home made. Their inventory is always top notch in GW, PP, but not so much in FoW... the owner is a cool dude too. You can also play XBOX and there is a pool table in the back.

I personally like going to Tower. I think the crowd there is cool, and it's easy to get to know people. I paint a lot, and they always have a painting table set up in there. I was also impressed with the customer service there, as they offered to hold a spellsinger for me. Phoenix did not have the figure in stock, and was unsure of exactly when they thought their shipments were coming in.

painted: 12 dryads,9 glade guard,2 glade guard scouts.
assembled but unpainted: 2 glade guard and the lord's bowman, 8 glade guard scouts, sexy elf lord
in the box: , 8 glade riders, , one female spellsinger, Orion, Ariel, the faerie queen. SOB immolator, 15 sisters.

I play in Marietta at Gigabites cafe. Its pretty nice compared to alot of other stores. If you can't make it out out here Tower is probly the place to go I hear sundays are packed.

Tower really is cool. The owner is a cool dude like you said. There only seems to be one game going, on at best, when I come in there, and a lot of younger folks. Although there is a good deal of card gaming and board gaming too, but that doesn't interest me all that much. Their tables and terrain could be better too imo.

It's too much of drive to Marietta, but I have been to Giga Bites. It's not bad. The Irish owner I met was a cool guy. But alas, it's an hour away.

Anyone go to Phoenix Games, and know if they'll ever get their GW inventory issues resolved? Great place and the folks who own it are really cool too, I'd hate to see it fold.
