Can the Skinks in a Lizardmen Battalion be made into Skink Skirmishers? I am starting an all plastic Lizardmen army with a Battalion and Stegadon and I am wondering what people found better in a game between normal Skinks and Skink Skirmishers. Are the Skirmishers worth the extra 2 points per model or should I stick to Skinks or back to my first question, can the Skinks in the Battalion even be made into Skink Skirmishers?
I am new to Warhammer Fantasy so please go easy if this sounds a stupid question (which it probably does). Thanks in advance.

You just need to make the choice of Javelins or Blow Pipes.

Sir Isaac Newton may be the deadliest son-of-a-bitch in space, but John von Neumann is the logistics officer that eats your problems and turns them into kit.

Blow pipes without question.

Blowpipes are ver niiiice.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...
Lets settle this in the arena http://pantsformer.mybrute.com

I prefer Javelins. And if you're doing all plastic, I wouldn't do any Skink Blocks as they suck without Kroxigor support IMHO.

Curious why you prefer javelins on your skink skirmishers... It makes them cost more, they lose the option of an extra shot etc etc...

Also im loving small skink blocks with javelins. 50 points for 10 poisoned shots...

They make their points back almost every game lobbing those suckers into units.

In order for Skinks to get the extra shots they have to either not move or get within 6" of the target. Javelins on the other hand don't suffer any penalty for moving, so can keep running around and getting 5s to hit, 4s if they do get within 6". I will frequently get more wounds from normal hits on unit than the poisoned hits. Quick To Fire lets them always Stand And Shoot. Shields are an extra bonus giving them at least an ounce of survivability. Plus Javelins and Shields look cooler than Blowpipes on them.

I do however really like Blowpipes on Chameleons and Chiefs who's one higher BS lets them always use the double tap and still get to hit on the all important 6s.
