I am rather pleased with this one. He doesn't look amazing this close, but viewed from where he is supposed to be viewed from... table height. He looks awesome.

that is actually really cool, i like the scar and suchlike, but no power sword?

Just a man, standing in front of a paint pot, trying to remeber if I rinsed boltgun metal in it.

lol, fair enough, if you wanted to touch him up at all I'd suggest highlighting the bolt pistol/putting some freehand on the gun/his coat, cause he's part of a SOB army yeah? so naturally would be more ornate

Yeah. I'd love to do some free hand. There is only one problem. I'm not that good at painting. I'm pretty sure if I tried to do something fancy, I'd pick something that is too fancy, and it would come out badly.

So yeah. I don't even dry brush. But I am considering starting.

hmmm, dry brushing is a really good idea, experimenting with it can lead to some great effect,

as for freehanding, it's not too hard, just takes some practice, best just to start with little lines and swirls, just to get a basic pattern started, like a vine or similar

It's a one piece metal model. You'd have to be a hell of a converter to give him a power weapon.

That's a good start for a mini. Give the gold a Gryphonne Sepia wash, same to the red. Or Devlan Mud over the same areas, up to you.

It's a great start amigo! Next try to experiment with some highlighting techniques (including drybrushing) and pick up some washes. They will add depth and realism to your models instantly.

Yeah he has already washed a couple of times. That is how I painted his pants. But I need to do some more dry brushing.
