We need a bit more information than that. Yellow, on average, is the harded colour to paint. I find it depends what base colour your using. Try this;
Paint a light brown (snakebite leather is what I'm thinking of) then layer your yellow on in thin layers.
Or, try basecoating the area you want yellow with the foundation paint yellow, then add you normal yellow to it.

Actually, Iyanden darksun is terrible for a basecoat. It gives the golden yellow a really crappy green hue.
I feel you bro. I've gotta paint some fire dragons with yellow heads for a friend. It's murder! I really can't suggest anything except thinned down coatrs.

Yellow, period, goes on like crap over black.
Wizard12 has the right idea, in that the Foundation color "Iyanden Darksun" is the best starter color. But, to avoid the "greenish tint" that Samus mentioned, you need to ensure that(like you should be doing with any/all paints before use really) you shake the paint pot/dropper/whatever method you store your paints in. Shake them very well, for maybe 10-20 seconds, at least. It agitates the pigments and gets things really moving.
