This is a revision of an earlier list I posted from some very helpful posters who had great feedback. I took out the Commissars, added more infantry squads, replaced the Chimeras with Vendettas for the Veterans, and dropped a single Basilisk and Griffon for a Medusa for additional anti-tank. The Regimental Standard is there to make up for the fact that I had to drop the Commissars so I can at least re-roll my morale checks, even if I no longer have Stubborn.

Oh noes. You brought a bunch of infantry without any real firepower, and, without stubborn, will fold like superman on laundry day once your opponent closes range.

If you're going to run an infantry-artillery list, then you've really got to take better care of the infantry. This means at the very least commissars, and preferably some meltabombs (your anti-tank eggs are in a very small number of baskets).

The firepower of the rest of the list is nice, but firepower is only useful so much as it wins you games. In this case, you're still going to lose a lot of games despite your firepower. As such, I'd rebalance the list a little bit further away from the toys and a little more towards the meat and potatoes (to mince metaphors).

As always, I value your advice.

The original list did, in fact, have Commissars. 2 of them in just the 2 infantry squads I had. I wasn't sure how to retain them while adding additional infantry. I also feel like I have quite a bit of anti-tank. 2 Vendettas, 2 melta Veteran squads and a Medusa are nothing to sneeze at. Do you really feel this is insufficient?

2 basilisks in a battery is a very inefficient choice, it's almost impossible to really use 2 5" templates in a multiple barrage. I would drop one. Also, I think the medusa is a very vulnerable target in a list with few vehicles - AV12, direct fire, open topped. I would take a manticore or similar, something that can get at the targets your infantry can't reach for a while, and leave anti-tank to meltaguns and such.

While your veterans and vendettas are good units, you've got the short-ranged anti-tank sitting in the long-range anti-tank, which can't move >6" without giving up 2/3rds of its firepower. I think you might either take a valkyrie with MRP to put one veteran unit in, or you could take out the veterans and take meltaguns in your platoons. Not as mobile, but hey, land raiders and many other tanks have to come to you eventually.

Infantry does need commissars, you only need one vox per blob not one per squad, heavy bolters are definitely inferior to autocannons and you should take those instead.

Overall, I think you need to fit some more infantry in this list. 2 veteran squads aren't really a great objective taking force, I would like to see 2 smaller platoons, one to go foraward and one to stay back claiming objectives and protecting the artillery.

Creed is invaulable in a foot list. Ditch the standard, you're not going into combat, you only need a standard with Strakken and a medic

Platoon Command Squad - 50
-Vox Caster
-3 Flamers

This unit is too short ranged. I don't know if it's gonig in a Vendetta or not, but you only have two of those and two Veteran units. I would make this static and throw in a autocannon maybe.

Commissar? Heavy bolter isn't that cool, autocannon is better.

You only want shotguns so you can assault after, which you only need to do with demos with these squads.

These are fine, but I'd rather take Colossus instead of Griffons. Much better anti infantry.

But Commissars back in a.s.a.p. I'm not keen on two single vehicles going ahead to there deaths, they will just be targets for anti armour weapons.

Try this for a foot list, remember to leave a comment and become a follower, shameless plugging over! lol http://www.imperiusdominatus.com/2010/01/army-lists-imperial-guard-gun-line-list.html

Hope that helps!
