My painting skills have moved up another level (though I wish they'd move up 20 or so levels ) so here are some of my latest efforts.

Enjoy (or not)

A pair of terminators - still need to add text to the Sarg...

I'm quite happy with these, except for the bare head. The armour is Chaos black drybrushed with Codex Grey but looks metallic

My Counts-As Kantor, I've tried to get the same armour colour as Rogal Dorn had - my housemate says it's missing something but doesn't know what. Again, the face isn't great.

My Inquisitor - I'm very happy with this guy even though I know he's not brilliant

NEW!

In a world gone mad, who is left to fight for truth, justice and all that gets you smashed for under a fiver....

First played 40k during 2nd edition, missed out 3rd and 4th, and haven't played 40k since 5th edition - but still read and occasionally paint

Everything looks good (expecially Kantor) except the terminators, the purple shoulder pads dont look right.

But the way you did your power swords is cool.

And those sholder pads blue or purple?

Cheers, I think I stole the idea of the power weapons from someone, but can't remember who so I can't thank them

I also agree about the terminators, but what else can I do when purple pads are the chapters colours? I might try and get the pads off and use some Maxmini ones I have instead. I'd also tried white helmets at first, but the overall effect was eyewatering

I like the terminators. Where did you get the helmets from?

The Goffs - 2140
Cobalt Skulls - 2722

They're normal terminator heads with the front cut off at angles (like the plastic GK tutorial)

I've changed the shoulder pads (took a bit too much hacking )

Many of your colors are a bit flat. Have you tried using washes?

They's Purple

Which ones? I've used washes on everything except the purple, but I'd like to know if I'm being too stingy with it. If it's the red, my camera doesn't do red very well

Here's a Libby I've just finished. Paintings up another notch I think

Purple still looks flat though :(

I feel your pain I've added four or five layers of colour to a model only to have it destroyed by the photo. I'm sure they look even better in person.

If you're not happy with the contrast in colours on the terminators why not change the base colours for your first company? Alternatively make your termies come from a different chapter, either way you avoid the boredom of painting the same colours continually.
