I would say no. The only really effective way to field a Bossbike would be with Biker Nobz, which are outrageously expensive. In my opinion, they're overcosted for what they do.
I would just take a Warboss with a kombi-skorcha, powerklaw, and attack squig instead. Squig optional, some people don't think they're worth it, but I like'em.
Shove'im in a Wagon with some Nobz, do some damage.

A warboss on a bike by himself is actually a really big threat. I've had him plow through 2 squads of space wolves before he finally went down. Considering he is only 135 points with the PK, and cybork upgrades he is fairly cheap. Avoiding a charge from a unit with a pf is important though. That extra PF attack can be trouble. I don't worry too much about attacking a squad with a PF. They hit on 4+ and wound on 2+ but with only 2 attacks you have 1 wound that you can save on 5+. Against regular marines they hit on 4 and wound on 6 so he can slaughter tac squads with ease.
That being said, the lone warboss on a bike might not fit with your army. If he is the only fast guy then the heavy fire is going to hit him first. You don't want him eating too many missiles before he makes contact. If you have a bunch of trukks, stormboyz, and kopptas then throw him in. If you have boyz in battlewagons he might not be as good since the wagons take more than 1 turn to connect. Same with boyz on foot. Although with a large squad on foot the boss can hide in the boyz as they move up and then when they are 18" from an enemy he can move out and charge a turn before the boyz.
I had the biker boss by himself in my 1000 and 1250 point lists and he was every effective. At 1500 I've got him with 3 nobz and a painboy. They work quite well for me, but they aren't the only fast moving orks in my list so they aren't always the top priority of enemy fire.
Converting the black reach boss into a biker is fairly easy.

Why not field him with biker boyz? A lot less hitting power than biker nobz, granted, but a lot cheaper and serves the same purpose of giving ablative wounds to the boss.

The thing the Biker Nobz do is give the boss feel no pain. The ablative wounds isn't too big a deal since there should only be 1 round of shooting before he gets locked into cc.

However, a Warboss will be taking on some tough targets out in melee. If those targets can fight back, you need the extra wounds (Don't want him getting swamped) and if you plan on charging vehicles, keep in mind he can still be shot at, so he still needs the wounds.

Welllllll... if you feel like getting a warboss, 2 nob bikers and about another $150 of stuff (Canadian) for $110 (plus $60 for the bikers) then you can get a battleforce...

I like em with nob bikers, yes people think they are overcosted but they're damn hard to kill and really effective. However I only ever field them when I use my bikes, koptas and kans list.

If you want to get across fast, I'd say go for it. But like others have said, if that's not the issue then I wouldn't advise it.

Biker bosses are great, but work much better with a group. Solo, they're prone to being killed by ranged anti-tank weaponry, but no more so than a carnifex really. If you can turbo boost them behind LoS-blocking cover they can be highly effective against units without power fists with their toughness of 6. I've also had success deploying them behind stuff and then turbo-boosting them into a shoota mob that's about to fire (and therefore you don't need to worry about running) and then using that shoota mob as a launch pad to charge another unit.
My favorite setup would be warbike, attack squig, cybork (really helps against powerfists), power klaw, and shoota/skorcha for when a target worth flaming presents itself. His extreme mobility makes that skorcha shot typically well spent.

Im going to run my warboss on a warbike with some nob bikerz but the codex says that elite nobz can be upgraded with bikes but doesnt say if the stats change to those of a nob warbiker under the fast attack category. Does anyone know which stats to use?

Any model equipped with a warbike gains the benefit (and penalty) of being classed as unit type Bike. In addition, they receive +1 to T and receive a 4+ armor and cover save.
I believe in the codex, it mentions the page number for the bike rules by the upgrade (could be wrong, don't have codex handy). They can still be taken as Troops with the Warboss because they're type doesn't change to Fast Attack.

You can join a biker boss to a unit of footslogging boyz.
Rather than using him to rush ahead, keep him with the boyz until the turn that he can charge, at which point, at which point, he can strike out on his own and let the other boyz handle their own stuff.
He's also easy enough to hide behind vehicles like battlewagons, so that he can advance unmolested up the field, until he's ready to charge.

Warboss on a bike is an excellent solo unit. He is small enough to hide out of line of sight, has a 18" charge range, can move up to 24" and give himself a cover save and packs a mighty 6 Str 10 Attacks. This will take out vehicles and anything in melee that does not have Str 10 attacks. Depending on your list you can run his as a solo missile or in a squad with bikers.
Nobz (elites) can be upgraded to bikers. You use there stats and get 4+ armor and (+1) Toughness from the bike. Warbikers are boyz on bikes (except for the Nob of course)

I disagree. The biker boss can be useful given good tactics and the right list. Flashgitz are irredeemably bad.

lol and does not hurt that you have me quoted in such a way...
errr how vexing the life of a 40k gamer
but on a more subtle note I tend to agree with the preference of a warboss in a bw with some nobz. It is just good old fashioned orky fun

I thoroughly enjoy my biker boss.
I usually keep him with a mob of biker boyz of 6.
I turboboost them forward to disrupt the enemy while the real meat of my army (boys, kans, nobs) move in.
He, and his friends, makes one hell of a hunter killer missile (not just killing vehicles, mind you).

I just finished converting a Black Reach Boss into a biker boss. He is a great value. T6 means most things wound on a 6+ except P-fists. I ran him with a 75 pt biker squad, 2 bikers, 1 nob with big choppa. You always get 4+ cover, sometimes get 3+ for turbo boosting and 4+armor, you get 12 TL S5 shots at 18". All for just over 200 pts, that is as much as a kitted out Tactical Marine squad. I rushed forwards with the unit, then broke it up using the boss to fight infantry and the S7 choppa nob to hit a tank. Worked out well.
