Own a lot of black marines.
Then started red marines, so Death company would be black, again.
Tried to make them less black, but still darker than the standard color scheme.
Can't find a nice super-dark red. Mixing the color myself got me to something near tin bitz......

Question is, must I paint them all black ? May I use a mtellic color as their "elite" runs around with much bling?

A squad of 5 Jumppackers:

A single model to show the color:

Painted these marines in a self-mixed color + black JP / soft armor / helmet + a bit reds and browns and green purity seals.

To compare the general scheme used ( vets/JP ):

Do you think it fits, to use a less black scheme with DC? Does this scheme work with basic red/gold BA?

Yeah i think it fits, actually the dark red looks really good.

On a side note: those van vets. need a wash!

They don't have to be black i like the idea of a deep dark red i think it's more fitting to be honest they are your models at the end of the day you can go any colour you like. Also love the combination of black and red on the vets but as fraggrenade says a wash might help they look a little shiny at the moment.

Thanks for your comments.

The vets are wip, I don't think they should be much darker but they were also just an example.

The Deathcompany is ready ( except bases ).

The "metallic" dark colorof them is fine around other figs with the red/black scheme?

My favorite part you painted is the gold trim on black.
