In the case of vehicle damage, when a Weapon Destroyed result comes up, if the opponent picks the hurricane bolters, is that side-per-side or the entire system?

one more... Does the placement of the multi-melta cupola/turret have to be at the top back of the hull? I was figuring to make the lowered section the "weapons deck", with the melta and the assault cannon to be maintained by the techmarine, with the driver manning the top hatch with a better view.

Does this one-inch-forward emplacement count as "modelling to advantage?

Well, technically it's a weapon hardpoint, so I don't see the problem. Same issue as with sponsons in the front or in the back IMO, just play it any way you want.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

Each Hurricane Bolter sponson is an individual weapon. Each is fired as a single weapon. Therefore, even though you pay for the whole system at once, each sponson individually is removed for Weapon Destroyed results.

And it really doesn't matter where you put the pintle-mounted weapon, as long as it's a valid weapon hardpoint. Any of the hatches will do. Just keep in mind that pintle-mounted weapons have 360 degree firing arcs, and if you put it lower on the vehicle, your LOS may be blocked by the vehicle itself. You measure LOS and range from the weapon, so putting it further forward WILL give you a perfectly legal range advantage, but may gimp your LOS a bit. It's entirely your call.
