So I go into a hobby store looking to get some citadel paints. I have always known the citadel inks and base colors had one kind of bottle (different color tops though) but I saw some of the normal colors with different bottles. They were the shape of the ink/base bottles but they had a clear top. There were only a couple of colors with this bottle but I didn’t know if this is what they are going to change them all to or not.

According to the bottle labels (new ones versus old ones), you're getting the exact same number of milliliters of paint. I looked when at my local shop on Monday.

Yeah, the amount of paint is the same. It's just that the bottle design is more compact.

Not sure how I feel about the possible change of the regular bottles. As far as I'm aware, it's only the bottles found in the new painting sets that have been changed, but it's not entirely unlikely that the new-ish foundation/wash bottle design will eventually take over from the regular colour bottles.

I like the older black top bottles, I guess, and I don't mind the foundation/wash bottles. Won't really make much difference to me.

I welcome the new design, I hate how on the black-tops the paint would drip onto the rim round the edge, and the ooze out or harden into a solid round mass when you closed the lid.

^^^ This. Much less of a problem with the wash/foundation style pots than the black flip-tops. I'm all for dropper bottles, personally, but if GW is sticking to pots, then this is a step in the right direction.

QFT. These pots are much better. Now if only we could make them bring back droppers... I've got a few OLD dropper bottles that still have working paint in 'em!

Yeah I agree on the new design and welcome it too. I saw them about two weeks ago wand was like WTF are those? I like that you can see the color in the cap now so you don't have to rummage through so many bottles for the colors you need.

This. I HATE looking into the paint box, because all I can see is black f***ing plastic lids.

I find that the paint still drips off the newer caps though, personally I think if they do switch the bottles over I'll be changing to Vallejo. The GW range is good and i'll keep a few of the rarer colours but all my new pots are so messy, i can't be bothered with the hassle tbh.

I like the fact you can see through the lid. I don't like how they don't unscrew like the old black lid bottles. I do a lot of airbrushing and it's real hand to have the large open bottle of paint.
