and have been working on fluff for the chapter. Lennysmash has been very helpful and this is what i have come up with. Lennysmash recommended me to place it here, and i agree. i hope the feedback can help.
Interrogator-Chaplain Vordoc was a highly decorated officer of the
DA, some even whispered that he could become the next Interrogator-Chaplain Molochia, since Vordoc had around 6 Black Pearls on his rosarius! Vordoc was known for his intense hatred of the fallen and this granted him a great amount of respect and power among his peers.
Tales were heard of a Fallen by the name of Malen lurking among the eye of terror. Vordoc quickly got permission to track this traitor down and bring the emperor and the
DA justice upon him. He assembled a strike team and went off to find this fallen marine. Upon Tabor of the Agripinaa Sector Vordoc and Malen clashed swords, it is said the battle lasted for hours, but in the end Malen was crushed, he lay in the sand a feeble wreck that could barely move. Due to an arriving force of chaos marines who had once been under Malen's control, as well as rebel guardsmen, the
DA were forced to make a quick stronghold to hold off the upcoming attack. It was there that Vordoc forced a confession from the dying lips of the fallen. It is unknown if it was demonic influence or that the fallen unleashed his last strength, but somehow his confession echoed through the halls of the bunker the
DA were defending. All the marines heard his story and were struck by the sickening nature of their history. The fallen was quickly dispatched after his words, and the
DA held their own in the battle which followed until imperial forces came to their aid.
the marines were devestated from their new knowledge and went back to the rock in shame. Vordoc was given another black pearl and granted the task of hunting down fallen. He kept his orginal strike team since there hatred was now twofolds stronger. they went out on their search for the fallen.
years passed and as they cont. their search they started to be unable to gain reinforcements and equipment from the rock, this forced them to use various feudal worlds to gain troops. The strike force's numbers rapidly increased till they numbered almost 300, the codex dictated that at this point they became a new chapter. they named themselves the Sons of Luther to remind themselves of Luther's betrayal and make their eternal mission ever present in their minds. They painted their armor yellow to remember the beach sands where Malen confessed all to the marines.
they have become a knightly order now due to the amount of feudal worlds they seem to be attracted too due to the amount of duty and self-sacrifice they find among the warriors of these planets. One planet in particular, Falengard, has become extremely useful in gaining new marines. These planets all value martial skill and honor as well as tactics and pride and train these skills and beliefs from age 1. On each child's 12th birthday he is taken to the Lord-Knight's castle where he is trained in all forms of battle and extensive combat training. They are biologically enhanced at a lesser extent than
SM scouts, but this makes them stronger and more capable. once every two years a marine from the sons of luther comes upon these planets, thou they tend to visit Falengard each year, they watch the champions from each Lord Knight's household train and pick some of them. The ones who are not picked are then trained to become part of that planet's imperial guard under their lord-knight's command. the ones who are picked are given gear from their lord-knight and told to march out and travel to the distant temple of the emperor never resting or being dishonored. If the warrior can complete this, and survive the dreadful lands between the lord-knight's serfdom and the grand temple they can undergo training as a
SM. most of the population see the
SM as gods, and it is a great honor to been taken in by them, the Lord-Knights on the other hand are all old marines who have been tasked with controlling and protecting the world as well as training the warriors so that the sons of luther can spend less time training scouts and more time on their quest.
how does that do?
i know the space marines off active duty is odd but the reasoning is that i want to have my scouts eventually form into a
IG army. this army will have straken, the
IG with 3+ armor save and i would like that to be power armor. and i feel odd just having some random
Ig with power armor. does that make sense? i would like it to be linked somehow to the chapter
