Ok, those of you who have seeen my thread on painting and modelling will have some idea what this is about, but for the majority of you..

I have painted Dark angels for approx 10 years and I am getting a little bored of the same old colour schemes so I came up with this guy from the awesome cadian plastic models..

This was my concept model which I liked and peopl seem to think is pretty cool...so...

I decided to go for an IG army based on this theme, and here is the fluff. It's my first time writing fluff and my first time ever with Ig so feel free to let me know how I can improve but please forgive me If I make some little mistakes

P.S. Sorry 'bout the format that I've attached the fluff in..seemed a good idea at the time...

You could call it " Alsacean arctic warfare school " instead of a single unit. School graduates would be organized in commando companies attached to cadian regiments. So any cadian rgt could have a commando company to employ if needed.

Also because fluffwise battalion level does not exist in IG organization.

Yeah sounds good. Pretty much anything I could say was already said by Hermann Morr. Except for the whole "feral small native population" sounds a tinyest bit fenris-y. But then again with tens of millions of imperial planets chances are there will be two like that. But I love the idea though.

Hmm..that is a good idea actually..I was thinking of them more as a rapid response type force, but that might work too..

And as far as battalion thingy, I figured if they have regiments and platoons they should have batallions too, otherwise the organisation of a regiment would be pretty odd =P
I would like it to fit in with pre-existing fluff though so I might well take that on-board..thanks!

That is beyond cool (pun not withstanding), awesome modelling. One critique is that i think the IG head with the goggles would have looked better (must protect against snow blindness now).

Wow. Awesome concept. I really like.

One issue with your fluff: The Red Talons chapter you mention as having found the planet during the Great Crusade couldn't have existed. During the Great Crusade the original legions had yet to be divided into chapters, as the Horus Heresy had not yet occured, and Robute Guilliman had not written the Codex Astartes.

Hmmm..That is a damn good point...it shall be rectified.

I am already working on goggles for some, and a commander with a scarf/woolen hat combo...I didn't want to give them all goggles because A it's alot of fiddly work and B I wanted them to all look a tiny bit different..thanks though! =)

I'm also REALLY looking forward to doing sled teams for heavy weapons and vets with climbing harnesses, ice axes, ropes etc..they should look epic if I can model them right!

Nice, 40k needs more snowy themes

Include some ghillie suits if you are using ratlings please.

I don't play as much as I could. I blame society! And ninjas

Wehrkind: "Nah, see he yells the order, and when everyone looks at him and say "What?" he grabs the vox, hits a guy with it and screams "CAN YOU HEAR MY NOW?!" into the mouth piece. Works like a charm "

Funny thing to do on L4D [if you own the server] Bind the tank music to a key, then at quiet moments press it and start firing like mad at something behind your team whilst screaming 'tank' on voice comms.

Cute.

A Norwegian drive-by team.

(what my skiing mates call ANY biathlon entrant).

I'm sure Valhallans have their own ski troop equivalent, coming from an ice world and all, so why not other worlds - surely not all of them are monoclimates.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
