Hey All,

Just a couple quick questions about doing ork warbike conversions. What is and is not generally accepted to use as a bike? I've read of people using Space Marine bikes with no complaints. But if I started getting into using some Eldar Jetbikes and making them REALLY orky, would I field complaints in the future?

I also cannot seem to find any decent information on what to use for bases, no matter whether I use standard ork bikes or anything else.. should I just always use the oval bike base, or are we actually allowed to use different bases? Since the ork kits don't come with bases I assume I'd need to pick them up from a bitz store, does GW sell bases separately? I kinda figure that using a flying base would be unacceptable for regular bikes, as they could (even though it's not possible to get) be confused with jetbikes (which have different rules). That being sad, and tying into my original question - could someone field Eldar jetbikes on a normal bike base somehow?

Thanks for your time!

the only problem i can see with using jetbikes is the neast thing in the ork army is the deffcopter. But if you tell your opponent that these are bikes and clearly and vigourously gesticulate at the conversions. if he complains remind him 'dat orks is da best so shush'
anyway go for it

Orks is never beat in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!

Yeah, use bike bases, not flying bases, to avoid any confusion with koptas. The bike base is also the one least likely to upset fussy opponents. The standard GW 'round base' bag (should be available at any GW store) includes 5 bike bases (plus a whole lot of others), or you can order them at bits sites or GW's own online store.

Fluffwise, make the jetbikes look battered and repaired, with bits missing and lots of nasty ork bits bolted on, weapons replaced with ork equivalents, enough to make any eldar player shudder - they represent looted damaged jetbikes which meks have repaired just enough to fly a few inches above the ground, not enough to fly like a jetbike any more.

Really though, if anyone is complaining about a cool convesion...do you really want to play against them?
