Which army Needs a new codex?

This poll is not which army you want a new codex, it is a poll which army needs to be improved the most...

these armies have not had a recent update, how is am determining this is the boarder. (look at the codex's the boarders are different) Newer codex have different boarders basically.

Wheres the option for Space Marines? They haven't had a new codex in like 2 months. Seriously, update time!!

But really, I voted for Dark Eldar. I like them and its a shame they've been allowed to continue for this long without a new codex

Necrons or Daemonhunters need it the most. Dark Eldar and Witchhunters are at least able to somewhat handle themselves in a competitive environment.

Mind you, all of these need an update naturally.

Where is the option for Slann or Squats? Slann haven't seen rules since the Rogue Trader book, and Squats haven't had any love since the black book o' lists that came with the 2nd edition boxed set. Those are the armies in serious need of updates!

Squats and Slann effectively no longer exist in current canon, certainly not enough to put up a viable army.

Lost in the warp while searching for a new codex

I would have to go with Necrons on this one. They have no ability to compete. DE and WH can atleast compete some even if its with one or so specific build

Out of these four, most people (myself included) believe that Witch Hunters are the codex that least needs an update.

That's like saying that out of the four countries of Congo, Somalia, Burundi, and Eritrea, Eritrea is the country that least needs food donations. (these countries have the four highest percentages of undernourished people, ranging from 75% in congo to 61% in Eritrea). All four countries need help rather badly.

Now to hope noone thinks that comparison is insensitive, as I am not attempting to make light of the world hunger problem).

The difference between DH/ Necrons and WH/DE is that the later can still be quite powerful if used right while the former
are nearly impossible to make even somewhat competitive.
So, DH and Necrons need a new codex most while the DE are quite desperate in need of new miniatures.
The WH dex has aged comparatively well ( it still needs an update ) but really needs new miniatures. I
have no fricking idea how GW plans to get new WH players atm. I mean, 40+ euro for a basic squad?
Of course, GK players have more or less the same problem with the only difference that you get a few more points out
of a GK blister than out of a Sisters blister.
Still, it is a disgrace.

Yeah, Dark Eldar are still definitely still competitively usable at least. And so are the Witch Hunters, if to a slightly smaller degree.

You just can't use necrons. At all. The DH are very hard to use too, but not to the degree of the necrons.

And yes, the DE need new models the most.

Not only are necrons lacking in competitions, they have so few options its kindof painful to make the same losing army over and over again and not even be able to try something different.

I would say definately Daemonhunters need a new codex the most, as I believe they are the least competitive army out there IMO.

I don't believe Necrons are much better, but they do have things like ctan, monoliths and well be back to help them out....most daemonhunter rules are now defunct.

Dark eldar need it just to get that army kick started so more people use them....

Necrons need new rules badly while DE need no models now. Either army getting updated would add a lot more variety to the playing scene as people who own those two armies would be more inclined to field them again and give new players who want to branch out into xenos something to play which is badly needed since 5th ed has Tyranids as the sole xenos updated race.

Daemon hunters need a new codex as most of the rules contradict with 5th ed. The Necrons can still be played at least.

I voted Dark Eldar Because their codex is ancient, they have a rule saying that they are allowed to run instead of shoot in the shooting phase, but i also think necrons need a new one, considering that the Ct'an can be instant deathed by Skulltaker on a 4+...

Yes, all of the 3rd edition books need to be updated and repriced. Necrons, Grey Knights, Dark Eldar, Sisters and Black Templar in that order probably.

Of the 4th edition books however I would say that Tau are in the greatest need for an update. Their book has that huge wargear section that has gone out of style and they have few competitive choices in their book as well as being a bit overpriced.

Seriously, the codex is terribad and terriboring.

Did I mention it's terribad?

Personally, I'd say it's the army that's boring. This wasn't a problem back in 2nd edition when they were just an adversary force, but they don't really make for a personal army. And I seriously doubt that updating to the new low wargear format is going to help.
