I haven't done conversions before, but I've been dwelling on this particular idea that I just can shake as of late. I was thinking about making Team Fortress 2 characters from forces of the Imperium as a project to get my feet wet in conversions and custom touch-ups.

I have a handful of ideas that I've collected. Here are a few I've come up with, but I'm not Warhammer-savvy enough to really follow all the way through.

Scout: IG Catachan soldier
Soldier: SM with rocket launcher
Pyro: (This is my favorite class, but I'm drawing a blank here.)
Heavy: SM terminator with chaingun, IG ogryn
Demo: SM scout with some sort of grenade launcher
Engineer: SM techmarine
Sniper: SM scout with sniper rifle, Vindicare assassin
Medic: SM Apothecary
Spy: Callidus assassin

How does this look so far? Input?

Everything's under control, situation normal... uh, we had a slight weapons malfunction, but uh... everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

Now do you want models that look like the standard TF2 skins?
or do you want what has the same-ish skill set?

And if you want the 2nd since most of your stuff is SM why not use a SM scout with bolter.

"There are no wolves on Fenris" Sindermann had said
"Except, of course... for the wolves, ser?" he had replied.
"Exactly, Kasper,"

For a pyro you could use a Death Korps of Krieg model with flamer.

Also for the Scout, I would use a thinner, more wiry model. I was thinking a Culexus Assassin with a head-swap. Replace his pointing hand with a hand holding a sawed-off shotgun (just cut a segment out of a shotgun and glue the two end pieces together), and if you really want to get into character use GS to make a baseball bat in his other hand.

I'm actually not entirely sure. If all goes according to plan, I'll eventually do both. The one I do first is pretty much going to be the first one I can make a complete list for.
