Hello All,
2 friends and I recently took the plunge and bought some 40k. I attempted to search and came up with nothing, so I thought here would be the next logical place. Are there any players or shops in the area that are known to play 40k on a regular basis?

Thanks in advance!

Cleveland ohio has a couple of shops on the west side, namely Warzone Matrix, over by Hopkin's Int'l Airport, as well as a couple of places further west. On the plus side, you can just hop on I-480 and it'll take you almost straight there.

Chris is a good dude, and it's not too difficult to find a game, either.

I concur with the suggestion of Warzone Matrix. It has its own website / forum, which would be a good place to find events and such.

There is also Recess in North Olmsted and Strongsville, Ohio. However, in-store gaming has kinda stopped. They too have their own website / forum.

There is JAC games in Akron, Ohio. I have never been there. There is I think it's called Gamer's Haven in Parma Heights, Ohio, but I have never played there.

I know of some stores in and around the Columbus, Ohio area, which is out of the way. But there is Buckeye Battles and Marauder's Mayhem down that way, if you are interested in bigger tournaments. Both tournaments maintain websites on their events each year.

University of Toledo has I believe it's called BashCon, which has 40k tournaments as well.

I recommend tournaments and conventions because it's a good way to meet / find people in the area that might play on a regular basis.

I regularly play at JAC Games during the school year. They've got a good amount of players and run monthly tournaments. If you drop by on a Sunday or Tuesday evening, there will generally be a few people available for pick-up games. Saturday is WHFB day if I remember correctly. If you go to their forums, you should be able to schedule a game with someone.

Thanks for the updates everyone! I have been to JAC games before, but not for 40k. I know they carry quite a bit of stock too.

Hope this isn't going to bring the thread back from the dead, but I'm also looking for some people to play against around the end of next month or first 2 weeks of October. I'm near Pittsburgh and sometimes travel to the Cleveland area (about every 2-3 months). Also, just as a forewarning: I'm a complete noob at this (still learning).

If you are looking for games, let me know. 2 people I know are still building their armies and are new, so it could be fun. :-)

We play in Columbiana, OH at Fantastic Games. Not sure how long of a drive that is for you, but it is an option.

That's not too far of a drive. Maybe an hour and a bit. I'll have to consider that offer once I get my army together. Is there a rule for painted/non-painted army's?

Not at all. They dont play tournaments yet since they are a newer store, so normally it is just friendly pick up games right now. They normally play for about 6 hours, so at least it will make the drive worthwhile.

Gamer's Haven in Middleburg Heights (just south of Clevelend) has 40k every tuesday evening with a packed store. A mix of experienced and new gamers of all ages so you can find a game to your liking.

JAC is also another good place to play at. They hold a tournament once a month and have experienced players.

Not a fan of Recess Games.

Wait... since when does CWRU have a wargaming club? I wish I had known sooner, that could have saved my group on some gas...
